All Cubans should fight like Morrell

You can see the obvious amateur skill but he also throws with bad intentions and never stops trying to knock people out.

That makes him exciting to watch, instead of putting you to sleep like a Rigondeaux for example.

I'm glad he's laying down a new blueprint for Cuban fighters in the pros to follow.

All fighters should fight like Morrell. Did you see how he's able to pivot his body in many different directions to avoid getting hit on the inside? Haney and others would have just hugged, hugged, hugged.

Morrell is a natural. He doesn't need protection. Certainly not from Ronnie f'ing Shields. He doesn't even need a trainer.

    Morrell would beat Benavidez.

Just because Rigondeaux is a defensive first, Cuban fighter, doesn't mean all Cubans are. Even Lara can go to war with the right partner. Just check Ramirez, Ariel, Gonzalez, Gomez, Scull, Matellon, Pero, Bruzon, Kevin Brown, and a bunch of all others all around the world. Rigondeaux is/was brilliant, but too old for the professional game, and still left his mark.

Any future Cuban amateurs who turn pro would be wise to look at Morrell as a role model and not Rigondeaux.

It will be better for them and for boxing as a whole.

He's not ready for the top. He loses to canelo, benavidez, and plant.

            - - Hang on to U jockstrap.

Whooped a 50 yr old Cuban. Fights in weak division of duckers.

What are you talking about? Who whipped a 50 year old Cuban?

You need to have a the power to impose that style though. Rigo definitely could have been more aggressive, he had the pop, but other guys would struggle to find success with it.

I'm glad to see that Ronnie Shields has some quality fighters in his stable right now. He's a good coach, albeit a little biased toward a certain fighting style. I still like him as a coach a lot.

Dude. I don't get the hate for Rigondeaux. Rigo is a phenomenal boxer and usually a pleasure to watch. He shat the bed against Casimero, but Rigo is like 40 years old. The fact he's still fighting is phenomenal.
