While I find young Edward one of the most detestable people ever in the history of boxing he isn’t exactly wrong here. Canelo has made a complete and utter fool of himself by losing handily and not seeking immediate rematch. Both times wilder and Joshua lost they sought immediate revenge. Both lost, but both had the cajones to go back into the fire, both after being stopped. Both showed the true hearts of champions in doing so. Not only did the diva not want a rematch but he chose someone clearly past it that he had already beaten in a rebound fight. If that were not enough, he then claimed he won’t fight Mexicans, something no fighter of his apparent calibre has said. No fighter ever has refused to fight members of his own ethnic group or nationality. Hell both Holmes and Page were willing to take on Coetzee, an Afrikaner, during apartheid era South Africa. Of Benavidez can impressively beat plant, Canelo will look like the biggest coward ever if he doesnt fight him. Of course hearn won’t put it that way but Hearn knows the pressure will be great.
