Anyone with single neuron knows Canelo will fight the winner. Canelo's only goal is legacy. He doesn't care about names or fan's wishes. His Makabu and Bivol attempts are proof of that. Plant and Benavidez winner will be greater name in the sport and Canelo will get credit more than today. If Plant wins, Canelo will get more credit than 2021.

It’s a fight there the two fighters genuinely dislike one another. However, I see Benevidez knocking Plant senseless, and instead of Plant willing to squash it he still holds a grudge going forward. Said differently he won’t have his tongue up Benevidez’s ass like he did Canelo (“oh, how did I do? Was I better than you thought?” Instead he’s going right to the hospital.
To that end, even if Benevidez scores a first round KO, it brings him no nearer to Canelo. The ONLY way Canelo fights Benevidez is if he signs a one-fight deal to come on Showtime (ala Plant) but that won’t happen he was just buying Plant’s belt. He will continue to hide behind the “he’s fought nobidy” excuse, steady IGNORING what the fans are begging for.
As for Hearns, he is just a blow-hard whom I’m sure most on here been knowing he talks one game and executed another. Unfortunately for David, I don’t see the Canelo fight ever happening as Canelo simply does not want that smoke. I truly believe this.
