It might not be a good idea to use Anthony Dirrell as a measuring stick since he was past his prime, while three years ago, a young 22 year old Benavidez defeated Anthony Dirrell at the peak of his career.

I wouldn't compare the Benavidez from 2019 to the one in 2022. By now he has stopped Angulo (10th TKO) who got robbed against Berlanga, Davis (7th TKO) who had a draw against Dirrell, and Lemiux (3rd TKO) in a five win streak after his decision loss to Billy Joe Saunders, retiring him at 33 years old.

As for the fight itself I think Plant outboxes him in the 1st half of the fight, but gradually gets overwhelmed and eventually gets stopped in the late rounds.

I don't think that'll happen, Benavidez isn't slow. Maybe Plants defense will help early but it'll just be too much for the house plant from the opening bell.

Hey dummy, no Mexican American wants to see Benavidez lose, let alone against Plant. We back our own. Now if Canelo still refuses to fight him, so what? Canelo still a great fighter, not like your Afro boring boxers, Mayweather for instance, was so boring that many of his wins were suspect and went to a decision.

People underestimate how well Benavidez can box. Watch the Gavril rematch. I don't see Plant even outboxing him. He struggles vs Canelo who is a midget and was just throwing telegraphed bombs for 10 rounds. David has an amazing jab, and variety in his offense.

Plant will have to be in the best shape of his life. I think you have to make David pick up and constantly reset his feet and get off while he's breaking his stance. I just have questions about Plant's durability.

              1. There are literally Mexican Americans on this very thread who are backing Plant you dumb ***. 2. You just acknowledged that you’re cool with Canelo ducking Benavidez. Try and be an actual boxing fan instead of a shameless groupie bihhch.
              3. Fine point about mayweather but nobody has had more suspect wins and scorecards than canelo. Do you even follow boxing? Not to mention that canelo has just come off a boring 12 round fight where he couldn’t even hurt a 40 year old ggg. Pathetic. You hypocrite.

You seem like a wise guy. Im surprised that you couldnt see the pa off in the Plant/Canelo fight. 11th round KO after Plant looking like the win. Just like the Kovalev fight. 11th round KO after Kov looking like the win.

Gayweather does not have a better resume than Canelo. Not even close.

That said, I'm backing Benavidez to win, when he does win, Canelo must fight him, that would be the biggest fight of the year.
