Good to see they are going to fight. Not sure how good either guy is, hopefully this fight tells us. Fair play to Plant if he is chasing the Canelo rematch, wish some others would too but can't see him getting it even if he beats Benevidez, there's just too many other fights out there for Canelo

You have to LOVE it when a fight gets made that exposes one guy as truly next level and the other potentially lacking AND has implications for the future. This is the quintessential example of that. Canelo was on when he fought Plant and Plant looked better in his last fight. We have not seen B challenged to this degree yet.

Fact is, Plant has the ability to outbox David Benavidez! And like Plant showed against Anthony, and his trainer the beloved Breadman says: Plant has power! The rumors that he is feather fisted are just myths!

That being said… Anthony da Oldass Geriatric Dog landed some good shots. Benavidez has a kind of power that Dog don’t have.

I hope Caleb tightens up his defense a little for this fight.

Canelo developed after the fight vs Floyd, he is the better pressure fighter actually.

He is a master cutting the ring, landing traps, feints, moving his head, starting with his left hand, he is not predectible, he can start with bombs and combinations, better body punches in the game (Lomachenko said this)

Chávez style, he is very similar, and he is a smart pressure fighter, Benavidez is not smart.

Canelo always is putting smart pressure Thats the reason he never ends a fight with marks in his face or hurted.

Canelo pressure and style was the reason Golovkin was too timid.

Plant now has the experience, Benabidez pressure is predectible, he is not smart, he has fast hands, but he is predectible.

Benavidez has a lot of holes in his defense.

Gavril exposed Benavidez in some many ways.

Plant will hurt David so bad with his explosive punches.

David is.not a Smart fighter and he lacks experience fighting elite level fighters

yeh Benavidez got dropped by Gavril years ago, but he was pretty young and crushed him in the rematch, no issues with that, good learning experience like Canelo toughing it out with Lara etc.
Benavidez crushes Plant and goes on to have a great fight with Canelo which I imagine he wins by late stoppage, being the first one to stop Canelo. Regardless, it's great to see some competitive fights being made. Benavidez and Morell both have alot of prime years ahead, i reckon they'll be ruling t he roost around these weight classes for a while...

Its going to be DB toughest test to date but not plants whos already has experience facing a legit top dog, im picking Caleb to outbox DB inside 12 rds..Bold pick I know but Plant is skillfull enough to pull off the exposure of DB defensive weaknesses, great matchmaking indeed
