Comments Thread For: Crawford On Spence Talks: Even Though I Knew I Was Getting F------, I Just Wanted Transparency

Terence Crawford claims he was willing to bet on himself--figuratively--for the sake of moving forward with a superfight more than four years in the making. All that the three-division and reigning WBO welterweight titlist allegedly wanted in return was a clear indication of how

I don't blame you, champ. PBC gave the 'Gypsy-Bum' a 50-50 split, and he had no belts and coming off a drugs' suspension. You are number 1 P4P, ATG, how dare they?

Mark my words, no one will talk about Crawford after he retires, he will not be missed, he will not be discussed with the greats, he will be compared to no one. He will be this generation’s version of Juan Coggi. For all his protection, Coggi at least mixed it up with Randall in fights where the winner was unknown. But hey, to Crawford’s credit he will retire a wealthy man having never been able to sell a PPV and only filling stadiums and arenas in Nebraska. I reckon that counts for something

Duckfords lies and excuses continue. Again he'll never fight anybody that has a chance to beat him. His next opponent got knocked out by a opponent that he already knocked out himself. Spence will fight Thurman who is a former champion, the WBC # contender and mandatory with one loss against the all time great Manny Pacquiao. Now who has the better challenge?

So now it's general knowledge that TC was not offered any guarantee. At first I thought it's all speculation.

First time I've heard such thing. Even Maidana and all the opponents Floyd fought were all given guarantee money, as far as I know. Makes you think that is how low they are willing to treat a guy arguably the second best in the division. Doesn't make sense even if you're not a TC fan.

Spence will fight Thurman as he has been deemed by PBC to be toothless and now relatives safe.

Sorry Bud, when you don’t bring any money to the table and your last promoter had no problems saying they lost money promoting your fights you don’t have any leverage.
Al was smart to limit his risk here. If the fight was a big success then everyone makes money but he’s not lighting millions in cash on fire for a guy with no fanbase that wasted his prime years hiding behind Arum instead of building himself up.
If Bud’s next fight actually happens m, and I’m still skeptical, they won’t make a dime on that event either.

B side Bud acts like he has status he hasn’t earned.

What’s with all the “Crawford claimed” and “Crawford admitted” references in this piece? If the writer thinks Crawford is lying, just come out and say it if he’s going to do this much passive-aggressive editorializing while quoting Crawford.
