I would of preferred fury to rematch Otto than give chisora another fight. Won’t be buying this show nor standing in spurs stadium in December. and I also doubt the undercard will be any better either.

Anthony Joshua is a contender now, you are still speaking of him? As if he is a Champion.
It is Tyson Fury who should be trying to fight Joe Joyce or Hrgovic over Joshua.
I am disappointed the Whyte fight. But for a fighter who lost his last two competitive fights at elite level, maybe it is just about acceptable.
I don't class Whyte as a World Level fighter anymore. There was even a debate whether he was still operating at World level prior to the Fury fight.
Business wise, Match Room are making his rematch while they have the opportunity. If it is not Joshua, I envision Whyte potentially being beaten by ether Joyce or Dubois etc.

Whyte is fighting Jermaine Franklin first! Let's see how he looks! Fury is not fighting Joyce or Hrgovic, because he's just staying busy until he fights Usyk! Hrgovic is IBF #1, and Joyce is WBO #1, so I doubt either one wants to sit and wait for Usyk. Joshua still brings good money for either one, so AJ should pick one and make it happen!

Joshua isn't looking for a tougher fight at this time. He's looking for an easier one to bolster his fragile confidence.Comment

From what I recall (prior to the Whyte fight getting scrubbed), Ortiz was in talks to fight Wallin and then King Kong's team ghosted Salita and Otto. Those two fights falling out is what led him to losing his ranking from inactivity.Wallin is pretty much forgotten at this point. The Fury fight was 3 ****ing years ago. I get its not entirely his fault (the Whyte cancellation) but he needed to capitalize sooner. I'm sure theres someone out there halfway decent who would fight him, but I guess its standard protocol now for guys to just make hail Mary call outs to whoever they think will get them the most money.
I'm not sure he can get someone halfway decent unless he ascends the rankings of one of the sanctioning bodies. If that halfway decent fighter is with a major promotional team, theres not a lot of incentive to fight Wallin. His promotional team seems incapable of offering enough of a purse to entice someone to fight. That's why he's fighting guys like Sokolowski and Booker on undercards nobody is watching.Comment

There is too much money invested in Joshua for him to get beat now. He will be fighting cans for at least another year.Comment

In your mind. Best person he has beaten is Breazeale and that was on points. Breazeale is rated maybe 18 at best
AJ already beat Wallin twice in the amateurs. Wallin needed to beat someone in the top-10 if he wants an AJ fight. Whyte's record is 10 x that of Otto WallinLast edited by Roberto Vasquez; 11-01-2022, 12:13 PM.Comment
