The live gate is the more telling story.
Schaefer said the projections were in the USD 6 - 7 Mn range. We'll see.

Hatton- Pacquiao was 8.8 mil. And that crowd was overwhelmingly British.

thats my whole point of this thread, iam not trying to make a competition thread of who draws more within boxing. It did good numbers, that attendance is in around 16 or 17th alltime at MGM grand arena. This is good news, boxing fans should be happy.

Many Mayweather detractors were going pretty crazy on here saying that "FLOYD'S FIGHT IS NOT SELLING OUT LOL OMG PWNED".

I don't know if they realize that Delahoya-Pac didn't sell out either. That fight did 14,500 in attendance, with a strong gate of $14 Mn.

Well, it does matter when they are British. because that isn't repeatable business.

Mexican Americans are Americans who can get to Vegas easily for multiple fights. Actual foreigners will only do that rarely. It isn't a sustainable business model.

Good point, but not all the crowd flew from England. You know there is a fair amount of British residents in the US.

This fight crushed UFC. And boxing fans should be thankful to both fighters for that. Additionally, Floyd gave marquez an opportunity to make a career paycheck, as well as increasing his profile.

Good to see marquez get an At&T spot.
