Anybody think Silva threw the fight?

I've watched his run in mma as well as Boxing and it felt like his tempo was thoughtfully suppressed against Paul.

I missed the first 2-3 rounds due to streaming issues. But from that point on until the end, it seemed like Silva's gameplan was to just try and steal rounds. I thought that was odd.

Very little activity during the round, leaving the kid available do his thing, and the last bits of the round, Silva would do his work. I thought SIlva would come out and box the majority of the rounds, but he did a lot of posturing and only fought in spurts.

Not saying I believe he threw the fight, but the thought entered my mind last night.

I thought the score cards were sus, he was outworking paul a lot of the fight. first round he threw zero punches, idk if that was to collect data, bait paul or what but he also gave up the round. second he put pressure on him and had paul running away. then he let off the gas and was throwing arm punches.

its suspect for sure, even without the knockdown and even if he wont the final round paul was already the winner on all the judges cards. Everyone makes more money in the future if paul wins so we know how that goes with boxing.

Silva gave him a lot of respect. And in the one round he went right after him, he got clipped and dropped.

I thought he could have won had he let his hands go, Jake looked like he was ready to be taken out times if he was in with a real boxer, he would have been he makes so many mistakes its not funny and he gasses, Silva looked to be coasting, in this sort of deal I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was fixed,

Doubt it. Hes just old. If Jake is getting MMA guys to throw these fights why wouldnt he just fight them under MMA rules? it'd look better for him, be a lot easier to fake and require his opponents to take way less punishment in losing because of the grappling aspect.

Dana wouldn't allow it, and it would be harder to pull off and be convincing, on his own boxing card be easy as.

He doesnt need to do it in the UFC though.

Its pretty easy to fake an MMA fight as long as you keep it mostly on the ground. There was an entire industry in Japan in the 90s based around pro wrestling matches that were made to look like MMA fights (UWFI, early RINGS, Battlarts etc). Jake could just lay'n'pray his way to the decision or quickly catch an arm or neck and his opponent taps in 3 seconds. Thats a lot better for a 47 year old brain than getting punched in the face repeatedly or Woodley taking a shot full blast and then face planting like he'd died.

But Dana hates boxers beating his guys, honestly, I doubt he would have anything to do with rigging a UFC fight to suit a boxer and don't forget Jake is telling Dana to suck dck, sillier things have happened but I don't think it would fly.

Nah. I'm surprised a 47 yr old made a young guy struggle and seemed to be running out of gas in the later rounds.
