you think people should support american fighters no matter what and no matter what they do yet you call other people tribal? you do realize the main reason a lot of american fighters are so successful is because they take advantage of that tribal sentiment right? some american fighters just suck and refuse to fight anyone good. its not really a surprise a lot of people took a liking to ggg and loma when they were willing to actually fight and exposed a lot o the frauds who wouldnt. it doesnt even matter if they are the best or greatest ever. at least they were willing to try and prove it unlike some of their american counterparts. there are still people to this day that will lie and say ggg ducked ward or some BS just to further their tribal agenda but literally in court ward got exposed for ducking the fights hbo wanted(ggg included) while ward wanted to fight dmitri sartison. his own promoter said this and the court ruled in his promoters favor because ward had no comeback. floyd was a joke. he had all the power in boxing and refused to make the fights while constantly changing his demands. tank davis has been a "champ" for 6 years and hasnt fought anyone. wilder beat 1 top 10 opponent. this is ridiculous babying of the highest order. look at usyks resume and look at wilders. usyk's heavyweight resume is already way better and hes been there for 2 years or so. there are a ton of good american fighters but you shouldnt get a free im american pass.
You have Nationality and Heritage
The Tribalism is in the Heritage, it is natural for people to go where their people of the same Heritage are, people hang out with their own people of the same Heritage that is where the Tribalism comes in so come fight night regardless if you're born in the U.S. people here tend to root more for their Heritage than Country which is their RIGHT
As for rooting for Americans only, of course it is not required to do so, however when I see fighters fight overseas and in other Countries I just see a major difference in how other Countries treat their compared to how we Americans do
I try hard to “police” my tribalism in my boxing fandom. I think we are all susceptible to it. I’m American, with a central & Eastern European father, and a Mexican & British (Scottish, to be specific) mother. I tend to gravitate to fighters who look like my family. But I also get behind American fighters even when they DON’T look like me. Muhammad Ali is one of my all-time favorites. And, I was really, REALLY high on Crawford even though he looks nothing like me (although admittedly I’m not exactly happy with him right now, granted I don’t know all the details and probably never will). On the converse, I was a huge Josh Taylor fan but grew to dislike his personality, and was furious when he got the robbery against Catterall.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like maybe British fans tend to be less tribal and just support the guy from their country, but I could be wrong. Brit fans can be annoying af, but it seems whatever color they are, they tend to support the British boxer whether he be white, black, gypsy, Pakistani, or whatever… good for them for that if it’s true.
In American we just Categories and Label everything which is really bad and divisive to be honest
Brits have incredible Fans, absolutely 360 compared to how Fickle and complete Garbage and negative our fans are in America
He is white east Euro. he is hated by black Americans.
Black Americans couldn’t care less about loma. Just another overrated great white hype. The beef is with the system that overrated him just because he’s white image.jpg
It’s been so pleasant being off of this forum and not reading the opinions of kids who aren’t in the game. Ortiz was a big, youthful, confident, undefeated fighter who had about a 5 month camp. I’m happy for that dude.

Lol at Loma calling Haney a heavyweight.
This is a little off topic, but Jake Paul beat Anderson Silva in a boxing match last night. My question to you is do you think Shields can beat Silva in a real fight?
Once you answer that question, you'll then realize how ****** you really are

as an amateur boxer he’s legendary maybe the ATG but he’s taken a few belts and been beaten by decent not great fighters he’s got to do more to be hall worthy as a pro otherwise they might as well let everyone in
