Comments Thread For: Conor Benn Admits To Testing Positive For Banned Substance in "Two" VADA Tests

Originally posted by THC View PostI think what needs to happen is a 1 year ban and/or jail time for a promoter whose fighter is caught. That would shift the onus on the promoter to hire the best lab (VADA) to ensure the contracted athlete is playing straight. At the moment, no one is accountable when VADA exposes a cheater. Promoters try to gain sympathy by claiming losses due to unnecessary expenses. Or justify things with the less stringent standards of a local athletics commission. Only public pressure can cancel the event. Think about it. This Benn-Eubank fight would have been held if a reporter had not exposed the issue several days before the fight.
What I'd like to know is: did Hearn know about these earlier postive test results and still proceeded with negotiating/promoting the Benn-Eubank event?
There is no justice there.
Ban and jail a promoter for what a fighter did?

Didn't Canelo have a similar situation? Pissed hot but then his hair got checked because the PED he allegedly took is more concentrated and stays within the hair for a long period of time only to come out negative?

Speaking as an American, we are the world’s greatest hypocrites. We accuse the Russians of PED, boycott their Olympics and lambast them for the invasion of Ukraine, meanwhile, we do all that and then some.
2 things on Armstrong, however:
(1) he reckons Tour De France is impossible w/out ‘assistance’, and tbh, that’s probably true of stage 1, let alone the rest, and certainly actually winning the damn thing.
(2) At least he’s not getting assistance to beat someone’s face in.
Now whether that last point makes him less of a scumbag than doping boxers is debatable. Obv, we’ve heard about how he went out and destroyed ppl for whistleblowing, which is ****ing low.Liverian likes this.

Although, not sure about the other point: perhaps haven’t had a death, but in Benn’s case, alone, Vargas folded like Origami and Chris Algieri looked in all kinds of trouble.

I really believe the vast majority (some has claimed 90+%) top boxers/athletes are taking some form of PED, Conor just one of the ****** ones that got caught. It's the reality of high $take$ professional sports. The only fighter I believe is clean is Donaire.

The best a drug cheater can do maybe win a UD.
To add, when people say the user is putting their health at risk....I have to lol.
IT'S BOXING
Besides, that has yet to be seen.

Just stop all testing its ******.
what is the point of testing if they wont inform the public of failed tests and they dont have any impact
and for the tests that do get revealed to the public they often will allow the fight to continue anyways
its ****** and pointless, everyone is on peds
I mean look at this fight, BOTH guys were on peds before the fight, so that makes them even so then just let them fight
