I see where you’re coming from, but I want to know with absolute certainty that Thurman is far passed his peak. He’s a highly skilled, athletic fighter but I’ve seen his ability to absorb punishment reduced in the last few years. I just don’t want to write him off until he’s actually beaten soundly. It would have been good to see him fight a decent step-up opponent before getting in the ring with Spence though. One thing we should remember is that Thurman is a lot craftier, faster and trickier than a guy like Danny Garcia. The only issue is that Thurman appears to be more fragile than Danny, now days.

I wouldn`t. **** the belt, if Thurman is the mandatory.

Thurman has done like nothing in the last 4 years.

Spence saying that he would not ever give him shot will create more drama to sell the fight. With the available fighters it appears that Thurman is the match that will sell better.

Even with Thurman not fighting frequent this would be a better fight on paper than the Bud fight.

Frankly - I think Spence does to Keef what he did to Ocampo.

Keef's #.1 weakness is the body shot. The story of the fight writes itself.

Really? How you figure? Thurman has been semi-retired for years and lost to old man Pacquiao. Spence sends Once Upon a Time back into retirement for good.

I can sort of see your point, but part of me wants to see Spence beat the brakes off Thurman.

The body shot - That’s definitely the worry for Thurman. Keith has responded to body shots in a troubling manner in at least 3 previous fights. On the other hand, he survived all of those troubling moments and won those fights. Spence is a good body puncher, so that could spell trouble. On the other hand don’t be shocked if Thurman hurts Spence. It’s very possible, especially in the first half of the fight.

The hardcore fans know him and he fought Pac that opens him up to the casuals. Boots or Stainonis won't bring the money that would compare to Thurman.

Don't get me wrong I want to see Boots get a shot but the business of boxing is how it goes.

We didn't get Spence/Crawford and we are not getting a consolation prize.

You make some fair points, but honestly, I don't want to see Spence waste a fight on Thurman, Id much rather Keith fight one of the young lions and be a gatekeeper to prove he is worthy of a title shot, as it is Thurman is just riding his name he just hasn't been impressive at all in the ring, I mean a LW took out his last opponent.
