I think somebody else should get a shot. Diaz is still a top 10 guy, but Katsidis and Valero are ahead of him in the queue IMO.

I'd like to see Diaz fight Soto.

I'm with 'ya ; we got off to a great start this year, and then fizzled out right around summer time with the cancellations and push-backs, but we're picking up steam going into the 4th quarter.

I dont think the fight would sell as good as it would in Houston. Its not really a homefield for Juan Diaz. It is even for both fighters fan wise.
If Marquez wasn't capable of knocking him out again (big IF) ; the decision would just go to "three ****" in Houston.

Diaz didn't even beat Malignaggi convincingly, and as far as I see it ; there's unfinished business there.

Katsidis and Hatton offer him more than "three ****" at this point in time.

And don't be surprised to see him take on Nate or Timmy, either.

Marquez isnt gonna fight anyone who isnt in Golden Boy. No chance he fights Campbell or Bradley imo. It would have to be Juan Diaz, Hatton, or Katsidis.
          Really?????? GTFO with that ****!!!!!

Not even FLoyd would beat Juan in houston!!!!!!!

Valero would be a good fight to make in Mexico.
Valero just had his visa revoked so there is no way he could fight here in the U.S.A.

Marquez should go to 140 and try to capture a strap in a fourth division.

Plus there is some good young talent in that division that would look good on his ledger.

Marquez removed all doubt by pulling away in the mid rounds and stoppig him. Since then Diaz looks spent,a nd would get stopped agin. been there done that. Bring on Alexander for a 140lb title.

What has Edwin Valero done to be ranked ahead of Juan Diaz at lightweight? Beat Antonio Pitalua? Who is he?

Michael Katsidis what has he done to be ranked ahaed of Juan Diaz who he has a loss to? I understand he has a belt and would be a worthy fighter for marquez, in fact both guys are more than worthy and would be great fights.

But you cannot rank them ahead of Juan Diaz.

Katsidis fought and won an official eliminator for JMM's bet, so he deserves a shot because of that.

Pitalua is the guy who KTFO out Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is the guy who 99% of viewers thought beat Casamayor when he was lineal champion, so it's a good win.

A guy gets a shot, and if he doesn't win, then someone else gets the next shot. If you want a second chance, you have to wait your turn and do something to earn it. A controversial win over Paulie isn't enough to put him ahead of Valero IMO, especially when it comes to getting a fight with JMM, who he's already lost to.
