I can't remember all the mega historic ppv's from the places you mentioned, but I can name countless legends that came to the U.S.A for legacy defining fights.

This general world people Hearn is talking about, will come and go in boxing. So this statement means nothing to me.

Crawford vs Spence Junior is the biggest and most significant all American title fight since Evander Holyfield vs Mike Tyson I.

When the fight is announced, it will gain traction. Authentic competition, cannot be denied.
"A sport with integrity, should cater to his genuine fans primarily. All other prestigious sports do." This is really not the case. Yes, sports do cater to their base, but the real money is in attracting the casuals and the non-fans. The masses are attracted to attending EVENTS. That is why the Kentucky Derby is a massive event. The majority who attend the Derby or watch it on TV don't regularly go to the race track or otherwise follow the sport. The same is true for the Indianapolis 500, the Monte Carlo Grand Prix, the Thrilla in Manila, and such. It is not the hardcore fans that make these massive events happen, it is the casuals and people who want to be seen that determine if any particular contest is a big event.

TC & ES need each other to transcend to the next level.
        Canelo Alvarez @ 164!

Tom Brown: We Offered Canelo $45M For Charlo; $55M For Spence At 164 Or Benavidez At 168

Spence vs. Fundora won't be as big as Crawford, but it will be close! Different fan base!

And Canelo said "no". That's why they're lowballing TC, hoping to get that Canelo $$ Who has heard of Fundora except the most hard-core boxing fans. Sounds like a decent fight to stream. Bottom line is their offer to TC is a duck.

TC is just killing his career! Trust me, Mexican fans know who Fundora is! If Spence fights Fundora in L.A., it will sell out! If TC fought Avanesyan in L.A., it would flop! That's why it's in Omaha! Anyway, i'm glad TC is getting his money, but he's ruining his legacy! He should've pursued Vergil Ortiz Jr.! That would've been HUGE!

Actually, to the general world, boxing as a whole isn't as known. At this point, since boxing left most main stream cable, there is a lack of audience and new fans to discover the sport unless they just dig up older fights on Youtube. On the other side, MMA is still on regular cable and easier to find when browsing channels late at night.

I agree with Spence and Crawford not being as big in terms of household names. I can say probably 98% of my company that I work for would have no clue who they were. The other few that can identify with them are MMA fans over here... Boxing is really hurting at this point in that, if you lose on the discovery of the sport, you lose future fans. Though it mostly only has itself to blame when all the greed and methods to display boxing have been shooting themselves in their own foot.

Eddie. Thanks for not contributed to one of boxing's biggest fights happening. Statements like this basically tell the public "this is not a fight you should care about". For the sake of the sport, he should be suggesting "now THAT'S a fight that needs to happen...it would be big for our sport"...it only helps the sport you promote.

Eddie is full of it, but he's right about this one. Spence vs Crawford is an excellent match up, probably one of the best matches out there. But that's what this fight is, an excellent match up, not a big fight. And don't get me wrong, I think it does decent business, but it's not the magnitude that Crawford fans think, or what Crawford and Spence think, this fight does a solid 400-500k in PPV and a decent gate along with all the other revenue streams.
