Big difference no?
I know Hatton didnt do any #s in the US before they fought. But Hatton was a crowd pleasing fighter who sold out arenas by the tens of thousands....In the UK!!! Hatton in the UK was bigger than Floyd In the US...BY FAR! You agree?
If Hatton Can sell that many seats what do you think the PPV buys would be if we got him to come over to the US? Surely not everyone in the UK can come to the US . So they will have to buy PPV to see it. Again...Mayweather cant sell a fight. He relies on his opponent.

Its crazy because you are downplaying how popular Oscar was in his prime to suit your agenda in stating Floyd doesn't help with the good numbers. Oscar was Undefeated against Tito and at the height of his popularity. That fight was Huge! It was the biggest non heavweight fight of all time before the Mayweather fight! Tito was also a huge star! Since then Oscar has suffered a few losses to quaility opponents and has not been able to equal the sucess of that fight. That is until the Mayweather fight witch not only surpassed Oscar previous best but all other fights. Prime Oscar was was not only huge but boxing in general was not struggling as much as it is now. That is why your statement was crazy.

Hatton was a fan favorite but I wouldn't call it exactly "exciting". Hatton draws a crowd far better then Floyd. Hatton was the reason the fight sold well in the UK on PPV. In the sates however there was not a huge demand for Hatton. I was excited when he came over to fight Callzo but there wasn't as much buzz as I expected. The Urango and Castilio fights also were more of showcase fights. When he fought Mayweather boh parties sold the fight. Floyd after fighting Oscar was more popular then he ever had been and they built up Hatton on 24/7. Hatton didn't make people buy the PPV in the US. Floyd popularity was at its peak. Even if you don't like the guy don't let it make you biased.

No No NO! you read into it wrong or i wrote it wrong...That fight was huge..I still remember the anxiety before the bell rang. In no way im down playing it or Oscars popularity.... But he did become more popular over the years to more casual fans. I totaly agree with your opinion on this post^^^! Oscar grew more after his fight with Tito ! SSM fights Gatti BHOP Vargas and in betweens....brewing up to Floyd. 24/7 had a real big impact as well as thier prefight disrespect...leading the fans to believe it was gonna be a grudge war!!! Also Oscar stating this Maybe his last fight....so everyone wants to see the last fight of the Great DLH...Come on man lol the fight was hyped well. Floyd was a object in the center of DLH.s numbers. It was an accumulation of factors that made it big...Floyd was a little bit of it, But it was all DLH for the most part!

I was speaking in PPV sells in general all total! Of course hatton isnt as big in the US as he is in UK. But i give Hatton credit. He had a **** load of fans and support in the US. It drowned out the Floyd crowd thats for sure. Sadly Floyd had less fans in the Arena than Ricky on US soil. Thats a Fan base.
How about the Gatti Fan Base/ Floyd went after that one too.

Roach is good at putting together a game plan though so it should be interesting. Discuss.
mayweather doesn't deal well with southpaws and his defense's only gap is for a left hand down the pipe. a 12 round judah or manny pacquiao are the most likely to beat him

Hatton in the the US before the Floyd fight would not have been able to do 350k buys with a name like Baldomir. He would crush that umber in the UK but in the US at that time there was no demand until they built him up.

The southpaw intrigues me but I still think adjustments on both sides will decide the outcome. Its a chess match for the ages.

None in my opinion. In Numbers Mayweather of course. Altough the SSM fights were great i wasnt as stoked as i was with the Tito fight. Tito brought that fire to the table! The point is he didnt go down hill in his popularity. Win or lose he was in there with some big names. He was becomimg more popular outside the ring as he was inside the ring. He kept up his golden boy image and made more fans along the way. His prime was great and he was huge. The thing is he remained huge [marketing] and got more popular with the normal household casual Fan base. Example: My mom isnt a fan of boxing. Does not know who Tito is or Mayweather for that fact. Has no interest in boxing at all, but knows who DLH is and has seen some of his fights and for the life of her dont know anyone hes fought. LOL !!! There are tons of Casual Fans who dont care about boxing and its fighters that only ride the hype train.
