King Arthur is NOT George Foreman

Man, between this site and every other boxing site I frequent, all I hear about the MW tourney is "King Arthur is going to knock JT's head off!" I bring up the Hopkins fights and the fight with Winky and the response is always the same..."Listen to the names you mentioned, Abraham will knock Taylor's head off, not box him. Pavlik ripped that blueprint open!"

I mean I've seen several of King AA's fights, and I agree he's a badass, BUT he's not Foreman/Tyson, and I think people are giving him too much credit. I mean I'm from Little Rock and all and I love Jermain Taylor, but I do realize his weaknesses. He does fight kind of like an amateur at times (i.e. hands low, backing straight up, etc.) but give the guy some credit! Ask Pavlik whether Taylor packs a punch!

As much as I want JT to win the tournament, to be honest, he does have to make A LOT of corrections. Although I would not count him out just yet, as a lot of people seem to be doing. I honestly think Mikkel Kessler is probably going to win, I'm just annoyed by everybody saying how great King Arthur is. Do you guys know something about him that I don't?

I think that Arthur has a lot of faults in his game. His workrate is too low, his punches are sometimes wild in a way that leaves him wide open, and his resume is one of a lot of decent but nothing special opponents rather than anyone as good as Hopkins, Pavlik or Froch (IMO Froch would beat Miranda, who is AA's best win).

I certainly think JT has a good chance of beating him, but I think that Taylor possibly suffers from confidence issues, and they won't be helped by fighting in front of a hostile crowd. Taylor's stamina problems are clear to everyone, and AA seems to have excellent power right into the 12th round.

Taylor can pull it off, but I think it's right that he's considered the underdog for this one.

He doesn't need to be Foreman to kncok JT out.

JT is the underdog with good reson but he is a live dog and can possinly win this if he sticks to the gameplan and doesn't let Arthur get off.

That being said I'm taking AA by KO.

It's refreshing to hear stuff like this. Although Taylor is flawed, mostly by stamina problems, chin etc. You would be hard pressed to find an opponent who beat Jermain without suffering any problems in the process. Thanks for your opinion.

Abraham's a bit overrated at the moment. To be fair, he's very highly rated.. Especially for a weightclass he doesn't have real experience in.

I don't believe there is a MW or SMW fighter in the world who could beat Jermain and walk away without knowing they've been in a fight. Kessler is a great fighter who would likely beat Taylor, but I guarantee he would taste lots of leather in the process.

Interesting opinion. If my memory serves me correctly, Taylor was just a couple seconds from coming away with a decision victory over Froch! Wasn't this the case?
