Comments Thread For: Ennis (IBF), Stanionis (WBA) Petition To Enforce Mandatory Title Shot Against Spence

The mandatory contenders in waiting for Errol Spence Jr. are eager to advance to the front of the line. Both the WBA and IBF have been met with petitions filed by the teams of Eimantas Stanionis and Jaron 'Boots' Ennis, respectively, to enforce a due welterweight title shot. The moves came in the aftermath of failed talks for an undisputed champion between Spence as the WBC/WBA/IBF titlist and WBO beltholder Terence 'Bud' Crawford.

Spence should just drop the belts and wait to face Crawford

Like most people I think Ennis>Stanionis, but they're both good opponents. I'd prefer either of these fights over Thurman.

No need for Spence to accumulate unnecessary damage against a hungry lion like Ennis, only for Crawford to then try to finish him off.

Spence needs to hold out for Bud, drop the belts, then move up

Spence definitely needs to stay active and not just wait on Bud, wether it be his mandatories or 154

He’s lost too much time to be on the shelf

Spence wants to fight. He said on Twitter I could’ve fought in Nov after the Bud PPV was announced

Spence has a lot to lose if he fights Ennis then loses and tries to bargain with Crawford for a fight. I don't think that Spence could beat Ennis. He could beat Thurman but not Ennis. I hope he is training now. Nothing like young and upcoming contenders waiting for their shot at the title. This situation has the potential of getting really ugly for Spence.

Spence will have to fight one of these two mandatories before fighting any keep busy tomato cans to get him ready for Crawford.

Spence loses to Ennis. This is an example of when keeping it real goes wrong.

I hope Spence gets his ass beat by Boots for low balling Crawford.
