I love Inoue, but he said something similar to that he had his reservations in regards to facing a "black fighter" and that it would be a considerable challenge in regards to athleticism.

Dude must be watching too much BLACKED JAV movies.

They don't have any of those fight's scheduled at this point in time, but they'll probably get done sometime in 2023.

Rodriguez didn't dominate Gary Russell Jr or his brother Gary Antuanne who is a legit contender at 140 lbs...he beat the third Russell brother who isn't as good and is still unproven.
Rodriguez fought the only Russell brother that is in his weight division, Gary is 2 weight division's above, and Antuanne is 5 division's above Rodriguez'.

              Right.

That's what I'm getting at, saying that Ramirez "dominated Gary Russell" has to be put in context.

Remember, Inoue isn't even in the top 10 of BoxingScene's Competition Index.
But that competition index is subjective. For example, certain countries and certain promoters build a fighter's record with careful matchmaking so that they arrive at 18-0 or 22-1 without ever beating anyone other than a decent prospect. Then someone like Spence comes along and beats guys with 20-0 record and they have supposedly beaten better competition.

Far as I can see, Spence has three good names on his resume,Brook, Porter and Ugas. (I don't rate Danny at 147) - and get this - NONE of those 3 are making it into the HOF. And all while he is at 147. Yet he is in almost everyone's top 5 at p4p - huh?

I would have Jermell at least equal or higher than Errol in p4p and any competition index ( I don't know where Jermell actually is) but for the last 6/7 years 154lbs has been waaaay more competitive than 147 so I give Jermell all the leeway in the world for having lost one and drawn one. He avenged both.

As for Inoue - he unified 3 weight divisions above where he started out and Donaire is a future HOF first ballot and was still winning titles in his late 30s - not like he looked shop worn or anything as he took/takes great care of himself. Inoue is already called an ATG by Breadman which I agree with - and now its just a question of how far he can go up the ATG ladder - if he beats either MJ or Cool Boy then he will leap up that ladder. Spence would need to beat Bud and Jermell to make the same leap - at least.
