Shakur is going to struggle with the elite guys at 135. A bum like Haney will be light work for Shakur. He’s going to find some formidable punchers at this weight class. His jab won’t sting, nor back up some of these men. He’s going to have to sit down and throw more meaningful punches to keep these guys off him. A man like Isaac Cruz, who sneered at every power punch Tank threw at him, would tear Shakur apart along the ropes. He has fast hands and a steel chin. A guy like Lomachenko would also bully Shakur, but with technique and handspeed. And there are other bigger men who hit hard at 135.

The days of setup fights where the best inside a division were avoided isn’t going to work in boxing as a formula to make money. The Floyd Mayweather formula is a sport killer. Boxing suffered greatly from how he manipulated boxing with his phony setup fights. Shakur is going to have to get in there against men who will get to his chin. Then, we’re going to find out if Shakur is truly a future GOAT or if he’s just another kid protected by shrewd promoters/handlers keeping him away from dangerous opponents.
