I played that "thump" sound over and over on a video clip posted on here earlier in the thread. I believe it came from Helenius punching Wilder's shoulder.

There was never gonna be a better opportunity for Helenius to take a first round dive.

He had Wilder in the corner with nowhere to go. Had he not hit the canvas he could have pummeled Windmill into oblivion and made it that much harder to throw the fight from then on.

I wonder if Helenius was on a performance based bonus. An extra mil for a first round dive, 250k for the eye roll and another 100k for the 'fencing' seizure pose.

No, it was well before the “shot to the shoulder.” A shoulder shot doesn’t reverberate with a thunderous thump. A shoulder shot doesn’t cause the boxer’s neck to swivel like a PEZ dispenser.
