Don't forget that it was a short right punch on Helenius who was coming in. So, so that makes the impact even harder. Plus, Wilder got some leverage off of those ropes as well. As Lennox said, the short right can do a lot of damage if you don't see it coming because it is a powerful shot. The power for that is generated from the shoulder or the twist. Ali called it the anchor punch. In this case, the rope assist and Helenius coming in multiplied the impact, not to talk about the fact it hit his nose.

Wilder is saying the right things, but he still needs more work. That was too easy. Lay traps, and move and move some more. Look at Fury, he even twitches in the corner between rounds. Wilder could use a quick turn around after that. The English heavyweights are where the action is, AJ, JJ, DD, and some lesser lights.Last edited by Corelone; 10-16-2022, 02:37 AM.Comment

Wilder versus Usyk. That one will be over quickly, as well. Usyk is not a true heavyweight. Joshua? Please. Why anyone brings up that powder puff is beyond me.
I was dead wrong and Im happy for Wilder. Punch looked suspect after some replays but you can’t fake that fall. Hellenius dropped like a sack of potatoes. Great win for Wilder and I’m happy for
Him and boxing. Wilder is great for the sport.
would love to see him fight Joyce, Joshua or USYK.

Boxing is a very corrupt sport. It always has been and it only gets worse. Like Luis Ortiz said after the weird 8th round of his first Wilder fight - correct me if I'm wrong but i think it has now been scoured from the internet - the round that Pauli Malignaggi yelled, "They can't do that!" After that fight Ortiz said, "Wilder's handlers have deep pockets". There have been other su****ious Wilder fights, like Malik Scott. I saw Eric Molina appear to deliberately back off when he had Wilder in trouble.
There have been countless fixed fights in boxing. Honest judge decisions seem to be more the exception than the rule. Not only has the violence of boxing always appealed to the criminal element, but it's an easy sport to fix one way or another - judges and the ref, and even grosser things like doping - either performance enhancing or performance unenhancing drugs slipped into the opponent's food or drink, loaded or otherwise tampered gloves. You can't always make your guy win but you can make your guy lose. Rocky Marciano's mafia pals even tried to get him to throw a fight once.
Most people here think last night's fight was legit. I don't know. I'm open minded on the subject but still su****ious.
