  • Comments Thread For: Frank Sanchez Drops, Stops Carlos Negron in Ninth Round

NEW YORK - Frank Sanchez seemed destined for what would've been his third straight 10-round points win Saturday night. Then "The Cuban Flash" caught Carlos Negron with a right hand that changed the course of their heavyweight fight in the ninth round at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Sanchez dropped Negron with that shot and finished him off later in the ninth round after landing several flush punches that made referee Ricky Gonzalez step between them while Negron was still standing.

We look forward to his next fight being an eliminator vs a legit top 10.

Sounds like Carlos Negron did a lot better then expected was it because Sanchez underperformed?

Joe Joyce would brutalize that version of Sanchez.

I said before the fight that Negron is big, can box & has power but he has a weak chin. On any given night he can put a guy on his ass…

All anyone will remember in a few weeks was the KO. Sanchez made himself bankable. In that regard, this was a huge win for him regardless if it was ugly.

At this point Sanchez doesn't have what it takes to be with the top dogs.

He was the same "boring Ass" Frank Sanchez as always, but the height and jab of Negron gave him some trouble until about round 6 or so I would say. Frank did land a few good right hands though.
