That's just off the top of the dome. Its a ****load of stuff. I use to study religion and I always wanted to know the origin of things. Alot of what we do and believe is rooted in ancient african religion...things that actually goes against what Jesus christ taught but christians adopted later anyways.

History is always intruiging to me.

I'm a ****** and we try not to innovate. Also we believe a lot has come from Islam aswell. Especially hygiene. 600 years ago a lot of civilisation was pretty ****** and in Islam clenseliness is abosolute or you can't pray. We wash behind our ears, the pit behind your wrists, our asses, behind our ankles. Studies now show that these areas pick up many bacteria. The ass being the obvious lol.

I'm just a convert so don't know too much of the other things, but there are books related to Islam and science which I ened to read.

Anyway thanks again.

It did so because as it expanded it tried to gain followers. In order to gain them they compromised there religion to incorporate the beliefs of others. All of the holidays we celebrate for example were pagan holidays that those groups christians wanted to adopt didint want to give up. So in order to gain members the twisted it around and made those pagan holidays christian holidays. And this is coming from a person who believes in christianity.

son we where brought here against our will and them forcefully assimilated into this culture. We lost our history, culture, language etc because people then set it up that way and there was nothing we could do at the time.

If you want to take it to that level...majority of the **** used today is via black mans knowledge. Everything from religion, science, medicine, philisophy, invetions, mathematics....you name it were created by Black men from africa. So we influence others a helluva lot more than people influence us and thats a fact. Do some research and find out for yourself.

But African-Americans didn't lose all of their culture at all.
One of the most glorious things was that people's ability to nurture, retain and evolve those cultural artifacts, even in the face of endemic hegemonic oppression.

That's why African-Americans own just as much of the American dream as any other race.

Certain common themes run back in ALL cultures. The fact that christians believe them doesn't mean they adopted them from anyone else. It seems that many if not all cultures have "glimpses" of these things. For instance the ancient Scandinavians had beliefs that involved the crucifixion of a sacred figure also.

Yes Christianity layed it's holy days over pagan sacred days as an attempt to help the conversion process.

And to the Islamic poster, the ***s were also very big on cleanliness.
