Everyone knew how talented Sugar Ray Leonard was coming out of the olympic games, but talent alone does not translate to greatness. Yes you can be blessed with all the natural ability in the world, but it must be tested and only then is greatness forged. Leonard had to prove it in the ring against the likes of Duran,Hearns, Hagler and even late in his career testing his mettle against a murderous puncher in Terry Norris. He took chances and that is where respect is earned.

Mayweather's sole drive is money and keeping that zero intact, those things don't engender respect(unless we're talking about nuthuggers), they raise more questions as to why a man blessed with so much ability simply refuses to test that ability against other great fighters within his own division.

We can wax poetic about how skillful he is, everyone knows that, we all know that already. But when will he himself be ready to win us all over by showing heart, instead of alienating us with this boorish antics. I'm glad Mosley bum rushed and embarrassed Floyd. I thought it was spectacular to watch this moron stutter "yeh but we play basketball"...priceless.

Instead of having to hear nuthuggers preach the gospel because he beat up a lightweight.

        That's not a fact, it's your opinion.

Imagine if other fighters did what Floyd just did. Pavlik vs. Hatton at 160 would be laughable. Kessler vs. Angulo at 168.

You realize that when debating a point, making a blanket statement means you already took an L right? It's amateur. Now try again and make it an educated response.

              yeah,that article is garbage.

Feather fisted Marquez had no business with boat buyer or any good welterweight.
Marquez was great at 125,damn good at 130,good at 135,(probably decent at 140) and now we know...weak at 146,his power was ****,he landed few clean right hands but they just slapped Boat buyer.....

It's easy to outbox a smaller man still comin forward who can't hurt you.

I think Mosley CAN knock out Floyd.
Mosley has this time the power and size for him, with a ****m game plan,I expect to see boat buyer in danger zone,so no,he'll not fight shane.

Another one bit the dust, LOL , that was one sick write up !

I just watched the tribute to Ali , he bragged , oh how he bragged , I was a kid , foaming over him and his style , doing the Ali shuffle , boxing in the yard,,,,,everyone wanted him whupped.

The difference in Ali and Mayweather Jr as fighters is ALI took on AAAAAAAALL comers , I think I saw every fight but the first Ali Frazier fight. Three great fights made Ali among all the rest. Liston, Foreman, and the trilogy with Frazier, the last being the trilla in Manila . These were ALL TIME GREAT FIGHTERS . Liston was a killer in the ring, same with Foreman and Frazier but he loved fighting them, he loved to win, he was as game as they come and ducked NO MAN EVER!!!!!

He doesn't have the best boxing record of Heavyweight champions , Rocky Marciano does, at 49 wins 43 ko's.

Mayweather Jr, has a vile talk with him, extreme vile, and don't care, he is a tremendous boxer, has little power but speed is power , he knows how to use that speed to make it power. Extreme skills. What sets him apart and will unless he has changed and I can't see it, is this , HE WONT FIGHT ALL COMERS !!! His 0 is his bread and butter, its whats making his money, so he is willing to throw his """"LEGACY""" to the garbage dump to gain the money he craves he loves. He smiles but he is fake as a three dollar bill. He don't have the inner faith like Ali had , so the question is , will he keep fighting fights he knows he can win, and still claim he is the greatest , LOL, or will he Man up, become a man and take on Welterweights, namely the true WW champion , Sugar Shane Mosley ???? What Mayweather should do if he ever wants to be recognized by boxing fans is to CLEAN out the WW division and then go thru the Middle weights, not play games beating up blown up featherweights !!!!!!!!

If you want to get tecnal bout it jr. couldn't carry Ali's jock strap !

Mr.Counterfeit Cash is the best boxer in the world.

Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world.

Pacquiao vs Mr.Counterfeit Cash? Nobody will know until they fight.

Being the best boxer doesnt necessarily mean you beat the best fighter.

Mijares better boxer got beat by Darchinyan better fighter.

Cotto better boxer got beat by Margarito better fighter.

Ray Leonard better boxer got beat by Duarn better fighter the 1st time.

Alexis Arguello better boxer got beat by Pryor better fighter.

You can easily flip the script & find countless times a better boxer beat a better fighter. The point is you never know until they get in the ring. You dont win fights by claiming it hypothetically. You have to get in the ring & verify it.

Well you can sit here and *****, cry, and moan about it while EVERY boxing website, magazine, network, and writer move him right back into P4P #1.

Wow another blanket statement, who is this "rational" group you speak of Einstein? Dan Rafael, Dougie Fischer and Bert Sugar certainly must not be part of this "rational" group you speak of. I mean after all they just write about this ole boxing thingy for a living, must be a hobby or something they all share.

Ok let's try again and pay close attention nuthuggers and yes I'm looking at you animalavenue. He is the best skilled boxer in the world, we already know that. Now that you read that I hope the tingly feeling in your leg goes away. Answer this--who has he fought, not at a catch weight, but a legitimate threat within his own division? Simply answer that one question....we're all waiting with anticipation for an answer.
