OK, let's figure this out. Gilberto Ramirez is 31 years old. He's unbeaten in 44 fights. He's certainly talented and it wouldn't be a stretch to label him charismatic. So why isn't he a mainstream star in today's boxing galaxy? Good question.

He doesn't have time to watch tape? He's been calling Bivol's name for 2 years, and everytime he gets an interview he looks past Bivol and starts talking Canelo. I think Bivol stops this kid.

Bivol by KO in 9. Zurdo has been doing more work with his mouth, while Bivol is working out.

        Tough, tough,tough call....

Gilberto Ramirez is a southpaw with a great body attack. He fights well inside and out. In his last fight he showed good reflexes and subtle jerky movement that made it hard to catch him flush.

Bivol is well schooled, very disciplined Orthodox boxer. Although not a lot of power Biviol is very solid in every way, great conditioning, great legs, good speed and never over commits. I've seen Biviol buzzed but it's hard to catch him flush and if you can't take away his movement it's going to be a long frustrating night.

In the end, neither guy fought anyone on the other's level. If Ramirez can get to Bivol's body it will show in the latter rounds and a good chance he pull off a (Golden Boy) split.
Canelo tried to go to Bivol's body and catch him late he couldn't get to him. Canelo is 5' 8" he isn't as long and doesn't have the reach of the 6'2" Ramirez.

I think people are underestimate Ramirez's progress, his style and his attributes give him a great chance at beating Bivol.

That said, because styles do make fights..... prime vs prime....I'd take Beterbiev over Ramirez and Biviol over Beterbiev. But lets be honest, Beterbiev is past prime and I suspect that's why Ramirez picked NOW to fight the top dogs. One more thing.....A prime David Benavidez beats every version of Ramirez today and tomorrow.

Are you hard of hearing Gilberto, Canelo has said that he ain't fighting anymore mexican fighters ie he don't want no smoke with David Benavidez who by the way he says ain't fought nobody which based on his resume is a lame excuse

If he upsets Bivol (which I give him a nice shot at doing), there may be a rematch? Either way, I cannot see what direction Canelo goes, but his name seems like a long shot to get called.

I never labeled it as cool gamesmanship, but I would assume that its because those guys have fought for and held multiple championships, and don't stack up 40 plus wins on their resume fighting old washed ex-champions, tomato cans, and tollbooth attendants. Also, if your opponent has not said a word, while you are doing all types of interviews talking about how you're going to dominate him, as well as speaking about who you want to fight next, then your mouth runneth over but your cup is empty. If Zurdo wins this, which he won't, he will have earned his right to run his mouth nonstop.
