  • Comments Thread For: Jose Uzcategui Calls Out David Benavidez: "I'm The Opponent That David Needs"

Following a one-sided beating against Andre Dirrell, Jose Uzcategui announced his presence to the rest of the super middleweight division. Though he believed that his IBF world title reign had only just begun, Caleb Plant had other ideas.

Sadly this is likely to be David’s next or eventual opponent in the near future. Uzcategui hasn’t been the same since the Plant fight and poses zero threat to Benavidez in 2022 or 2023 or whatever

Although Uzcategui is the # 17 ranked fighter in the world, Benavidez would be better off trying to get one of the top ten fighters to fight him.
Then if he can't get anyone in the top 10, to fight him then by all means take the Uzcategui fight, and make a statement by knocking him out.
After that it has to be open season on all of the top ten fighter's in your division, if that doesn't work the top 15, and so on.
I hate to say it but if you have to you even have to take the low end of the deal, then that's what he has to do, because he put himself in this unenviable position.
By losing the title twice without even throwing a punch, because he lost it once for coming up positive on recreational drug's, and then by missing weight.

This bum lost to lionell thompson. He will be easy work for David.

What was the length of Uzcategui's ban for using EPO?

Surely he got more than 1 year? This isn't a drug that can "accidentally" be in your system.

As irrelevant and shopworn as Bolivita is at this point, I fully expect to see him in the ring against Benavidez or perhaps even Dirrell or even Plant again.

This seems realistic, Benavidez has only fought once this year so this probably happens next year.

Without that EPO in his system, Uzi is nothing. Clearly wasn't clean when fighting Dirrell

Caleb Plant went life or death with this guy, got busted up, hurt, had his eye split open. Benavidez will hurt this dude bad
