having watched some sparring footage over the years against good fighters like oscar and morales to name a few I think he had more to his game that we saw in actual fights ..but of course not Loma levels of talent but enough to say he wasn't as crude as he appeared
It’s plausible, if you’re consistently knocking guys out it’s naturally gonna make you fall in love with your power so to speak.

I was never that impressed with Valero though tbh, I thought he was pretty hittable and telegraphed the big left hand, had the rumoured Pacquiao fight happened I think he’d have been obliterated.

He was obviously a very dangerous fighter but somebody with the ring IQ of Loma takes him to town IMO. Obviously subjective though, we probably never actually saw the best of Valero so he might have had more gears to his game than I thought.

loma couldnt hold back a bus driver and got physically dominated by teofimo.

      valero is a monster.

      who has athletic ability.

loma doesnt have the power to keep him off. linares knocked down loma. valero would orenthal loma.

      im not joking.

valero was the real deal. he was abusing erik morales before pacquiao did.

        he was absolutely skilled.

he was the latin aaron pryor on steroids.

he was very light on his feet, had great combination punching skills. people think valero is some limited boxer with power like a deontay wilder but that's not the case.

the guy was very skilled. as much as loma? no, but if loma got dropped by past prime linares, prime valero would have no trouble getting to loma who despite his sublime technique and athleticism, has shown he can be got.

valero was a pure monster. on and off the ring. he was a very strong fighter while strength is loma's weakness.
