Stepping up two weight divisions this weekend does not mean that Conor Benn's welterweight ambitions are behind him, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

I just wish this money grabbing , non sensical and no meaning fight would just **** off and leave the sport alone but more importantly these greedy bastards are not respecting the past of two great fighters who have to live with two tragedy’s in the ring and then watch their sons potentially end up the same .

I might that the two GREAT fighters you speak of got absolutely schooled by Steve Collins. Eubank and Benn senior were at best European level, as soon tthey came up against world level as tough as teak Steve Collins they got found out. Collins was a much better fighter than the two seniors and had the work put in Boston. The truth is alongside Mexicans the Irish are the next best. English boxing fans always like to forget about the nights eubank and Benn senior got in with an Irishman.

No one cares Eddie. Benn's a cheat and the fight should be off

          Yes, exactly!

"While the British Boxing Board of Control have prohibited the bout from taking place - at the moment the fight is still going forward as planned . . . "

So basically bbbc is powerless and noone gives a fluck about contracts and drug testing.

If its easier why did he get caught taking drugs? Eddie trying to change conversation away from fact this fight should be banned. Boxing is too dangerous to go through with Saturdays fight after vada drug test caught Benn

I remember Eubank- Collins , Eubank thought he was winning early and did some ridiculous posturing iirc. He went on to lose embarrassingly but I always thought he would have won had he not started posing after landing a couple of good punches

I agree with Eddie Hearn. After all, TBC has been #1.P4P since schooling Ricky Burn in the UK.

I hope this fight goes ahead but if it does I doubt Benn can go past 5 rounds if eubank trys to go for him and not toy with him like a cat with a mouse, this one could be fast and furious

And by top names at welterweight he means they are avoiding David Avanesyan.
