Why Couldn't Floyd Mayweather Jr Ever Become Undisputed?

Bronze Medalist Floyd Mayweather Jr owns roughly 20 WBC belts but somehow never was able to unify a division.

Very strange considering that some of Floyd's top supporters consider him to be in the top 10 greatest lower weight fighters of the last 15 years.

What would be considered more disappointing aspect of Floyd's career? Would it be when he was thoroughly outboxed and humiliated in the Olympics and left with a tear soaked Bronze participation medal? Or is it Floyd's inability to unify a division and become an undisputed World Champion as a pro?

It is widely known that in order to be considered a real champion in this century, one must win every belt in their division or become lineal champion. Neither of which Floyd ever accomplished.

Even Canelo Alvarez, whom Floyd scored a majority decision over in Floyd's home town of Las Vegas when Canelo was still a novice, was able to unify a division and become a true world champion bound for Canasota.

Will the history books even show Floyd as a champion? Or will they show him as a failed Olympian who ducked the best fighters of his divisions and had the WBC in his pocket but could never unify a division despite the fact that for several years every fighter within three weight classes were waiting in line for a fight with Floyd, including all of the belt holders and lineal champions in the divisions Floyd was pilfering.

Two reasons, once he became a big star he only wanted to fight faded stars or upcoming stars not the prime ones. Some of the champions when he was on top wouldn’t agree to his 80/20 splits which was Floyd’s way to not fight them.

Everyone knows Floyd ducked Kell Brook for welterweight undisputed. Floyd had the chnceto go for welterweight undisputed after beating Pac but instead chose to end his career fighting a bum in Berto.
