Comments Thread For: Fundora: I Showed The Fans What I Was Made Of In My Last Fight

The biggest win of Sebastian Fundora's career was less about a learning experience and more about proving his worth. The unbeaten 6'5 1/2 " junior middleweight saw his stock skyrocket following his ninth-round stoppage of top contender Erickson Lubin. Their terrific slugfest this past April 9in Las Vegas remains a leading candidate for 2022 Fight of the Year, with Fundora scoring an early knockdown and surviving one of his own to batter Lubin to the point of his corner electing to stop the fight after nine bruising rounds.

I thought Fundora was a gimmick early in his career and would get exposed the first time he fought someone with power and reasonable skills. His wins against Gallimore and Lubin proved my assessment wrong.

He has flaws in his game but he's no gimmick. He's also incredibly tough, has a better chin than I expected and can dish out some serious punishment.

The only one who can beat fundora is spence when he goes up to 154 pounds with body shots spence will knock him off the top of 6p5 and a half spence is better than erickson lubin stronger fiercer and spence has something a lot of boxers have not the mentality of a pit bull

I think we know who Fundora is. A massively oversized fighter for the division who as a result can take more punishment than his much smaller opponents are able to receive.

If he can make the weight he can make the weight.

Fighters like Shakur Stevenson don't even bother to do that much.

Fundora is fun o watch but need some to work on his defence
He gets hit way to much
And also let’s not get to ahead of ourselves as he has beaten Lubin , not really the upper echelon May I say

yeah shakur missed weight and now he’s moving up. Canelo missed weight and he changed the contracted weight 1 day before the fight. Benavidez missed weight and since he’s come back and made it. There are 100s of examples of that but still irrelevant to my point because I never said he couldn’t make weight. I said he’s oversized for the division (probably the biggest guy in the history of the division) and as a result can take more punishment than his opponents. Is that not accurate or do you see a defensive specialist when you watch him fight?

Boxing has weight divisions not size divisions.

Fundora is doing nothing wrong that should cause people to take credit away from him.

why are you so sensitive? Is it not accurate that bigger fighters in any division can generally endure more punishment than a smaller opponent? Is he not massive for the division? Have we not seen him take punishment but outlast his smaller opponents? What exactly are you debating
