I don't know if Golden Boy had anything to do with the rankings because the last issue of the Ring Mag the shane mosley interview, they press him pretty hard about the whole balco/steroid issue. Seems to me if it were Golden Boy influenced they wouldn't even ask tough questions like that.
The Ring update their Rankings - Bizzare ratings!

It's mad Shane's so high really. He's jumped absolute leaps and bounds based on one win.
He was being over looked and Marg really was over rated as well, so it was an over rated win.
When you consider Cotto only has one loss on his record, has just beaten Clottey and beat Shane in the past, it's a little crazy to see Margacheato having such adverse effects on they're p4p ratings.
I'm ok with Mayweather at 2, and Hopkins hasn't fought in a long time. But that was the case a couple of months ago, it's simply too coincidental for that to change at the same time Shane's looking to really fight Floyd.
Very disapointing of Ring however you look at it. What's our best hope now for the least corrupt org, the IBO? Jeez...Comment

I'll have to eat crow if Pavlik beats him, but isn't that the definition of P4P? Moving up in weight and winning fights convincingly. Cotto and Mayweather are fighting smaller guys now. That needs to be taken into consideration. Of course Cotto is in the top ten at the moment, and doesn't deserve to be. I was more impressed with Paul's win over Winky than Cotto's narrow win over Clottey.Comment

I agree that is why they did it. But not only Mosley should move up, he should be ranked over Mayweather anyway. I agree Golden Boy has an agenda, but Mosley's destruction over Antonio Margarito was more impressive than Mayweather beating JMM after holding the Welterweight division hostage and going into retirement. Shane was eventually going to fight Clottey, but HBO fucked that up.Comment
