Joshua says he's a new brreed of heavyweight, as if all the heavyweights of the past were small men, which explains why they were able to go 12 rounds and throw lots of punches. He says that because he doesn't know boxing history. Many big men fought 12 and even 15 rounds, and could move and throw punches all night long. Buster Mathis comes to mind. Big man, maybe 6'4", 300 lbs. Had speed and movement like a middleweight, feet were as light as a ballet dancer. Lennox wasn't small, he was an inch shorter than AJ, every bit as big, and could definitely go 12 hard, actiion packed rounds with no problems, same for Rid**** Bowe. Larry Holmes was 6'4, 230-ish and could go 15 hard, action packed rounds and would move and box and punch all night long. Hell, even Tyson Fury can do 12 and throw plenty of punches. So AJ has to understand he won't get better by whining. He has to work harder. Put the weights down and do more good old fashioned road work, like the old timers did. They wasn't all jacked up, but they ran a lot more than most modern fighters, and they didn't lift a lot of heavy weights, and it showed. They fought the way they trained, that's why in the ring, they didn't show stamina issues.

That's what i was thinking watching it unfold. Especially the belt tossing incident. Totally uncalled for and ugly behavior.

But in Joshua's defense he was disappointed in the outcome. I thought he fought well in that fight. Usyk let him get it off his chest because he knew no matter what Joshua had to say,he (Usyk) would still be leaving the ring with the belts. PersonalLy,I think it should be Joshua fighting Charr next,,and then a matchup w Wilder. That would be massive, belts or not.

If he can't do 12 rounds he needs to find a new personal trainer. That or find a new profession. It never ceases to amaze me watching top pro athletes who really don't know how to train properly for their profession.

I believe it was Andre Ward that said AJ should try and lean down and eliminate some of his muscle mass. Muscles eat up oxygen and causes him to tire out faster. Genetics are coming into play at this stage in AJ's career honestly. He may have very well seen his peak in the sport and should probably focus on fights such as Wilder so he can make good money and still fight named fighters.

Mathis was obese at 260 lbs, let alone 300 lbs. He was slow, uncoordinated and technically limited.

Lewis could not throw combinations as explosively as AJ. Holmes was 215 lbs in his prime.

Certain athletes have a lot of high twitch fibers and/or not the highest VO2 maxes, so naturally, they will gas easier.

Lifting weights is an important element of any modern athlete's training program, the rhetoric against it in boxing is nothing more than an outdated old wives' tale.

He did the same to a lesser extent against Ruiz, ruining his moment, he'll never learn he's so entitled to.

That still doesn't excuse what he did.
He did the same to Ruiz to a lesser extent as it's all about him he's been given so much, the sheer entitlement to behave that way is vile.
I can't think of another boxer who's lost which is most of them to behave that way, the winner's hand get's raised, the looser congratulates & get out of the ring.
                      He's a spoilt child.
