Morrell did a complete 360 after stating that Benavidez never mentioned his name. As soon as Benavidez mentioned his name, which was immediately after he made that remark, he changed his tune completely and now it's up to his team.

Morrell kept barking his name but as soon as the big dog starting barking back, Morrell went quiet.

I like Morrell, entertaining and skilled, but calling out somebody you're not really willing to fight is a bad look. Blame it on the team or whoever you like but it's still a bad look.

If I remember correctly Morrell, was the one who called out Benvidez, but when Benavidez appeared ready to take the challenge Morrell did say peep.
It is actually more than just a bad look, he tried to punk Benavidez, and punk'd himself in the process, some Cuban's have a big mouth, this was one of those case's.
The thing about it is Morrell is a hell of a good, and exciting fighter, he can punch, take a punch, box has good reflex's, why did he find it necessary to talk s**t?
Especially to such a seriously gifted boxer puncher as Benvidez, he must've felt like he needed to cause some drama in order to get some wanted/needed attention to his boxing career. BIG MISTAKE!!!

Morrell wanted the fight, but Ronnie Shields and his manager shut it down. They thought it was too soon. I can't blame Morrell in this instance. But i can understand those thinking it is too soon for him. He's only had a handful of fights.

Not once did Morrell ever say anything other than wanting to fight Benavidez. It was Shields who shut it down alongside his manager.
