Had Floyd Knocked JMM Out It Would Have Gotten Less Credit

Cotto/Pac wasnt even considered when Floyd signed to fight Marquez, just doesnt make sense. Pac wouldnt mind fighting Floyd I dont think, but its Arum I think who will either block it altogether or stall as long as possible through negotiations. They will say 50-50 or no fight, but Pac has to get through Cotto which isnt a given by no stretch of the imagination.
No dobut, Pacquiao has his work cut out for him. But I don't think Arum is stubborn enough to let what at this point would be the biggest fight in boxing, not happen.
Regardless, I still believe that Marquez was hand picked by Team Mayweather, because after all, it was essentially a return fight as well as a 'tune-up' fight, in setting up a big money mega-fight with whoever might bring the most money to the table.Comment

As far as your claim that they would not allow the fight to happen based on the Marquez fight, I couldn't disagree more. Since when have Roach or Arum turned a risky fight down for Manny?
Remember he was supposed to be absolutely demolished by Oscar?
They took the fight anyways.
Ricky Hatton was invincible at 140, and much too big and strong for Manny.
They took the fight anyways.
The Marquez fight did not change anyone's perception about Mayweather. We knew he was lightning quick, we knew he was a defensive mastermind, and most of us knew he was going to beat the **** out of Marquez, easily.Comment

If floyd dominated like 9 rounds or so, and then KO'd JMM, he would of showed he can play around and ko him.....but anyway was a ****** fight...the weight difference was ridiculousComment

But just about every boxing writer, as well as the general consensus on this very board, were that Manny was going to get sc****d badly.
Floyd stayed a 4-1 favorite because, well...no one was willing to bet on Marquez even with odds like that...and rightfully so.Comment

A potential Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would absolutely be the biggest fight possible. No way in hell Arum let's that one fall through.

Hatton wasnt invincible at 140 thats a ridicules statement Hatton is a hype job that Floyd exposed at the same weight Hatton beat Castillo and then Hatton also had issues on top of he just aint good enough .
I just dont think they will look at Floyd the same way , he aint lost nothing and like Floyd said it was my first back I can be better .

Roach knew Oscar couldnt make that weight better than anyone on earth , that fight would have been illegal in the business world for its insider trading .
