After last saturday’s fight and Canelo gassing out vs a 40yr old man. I can’t imagine Canelo survivng David’s onslaught who is one of the most ferocious volume punches at 168lbs. The fact that Alvaroids only landed 10 more punches against a past his prime 40yr old is embarassing.

I didn't vote because at this point its a 50/50 fight now. It will be like Canelo/Floyd they won't meet at there absolute primes anymore. Canelo will be mid 30s when they meet but David might be peaked when they do.Comment

Yes I would say this fight, if made next is close to a 45/55 fight in favor of Alvarez. Alvarez skill for skill is a better fighter than Benavidez, but? It is not as if he is miles ahead of these other fighters the same way Mayweather, Hopkins, Jones, were at times in technical ability and slickness. Fighters can find Alvarez inside the ring, and they can get to him.
If the fight is made next Alvarez I think could beat Benavidez.
Benavidez stylistically looks like he would cause Alvarez big problems. But I don't think he has proven anything at high end world class level.
I think he needs to beat down Caleb Plant or another high end world class fighter. He is looking good against a certain level.
Alvarez is a elite level fighter, so is Golovkin gong off his last performance.
There is world class, high end world class, and elite level. They are the top classifications of levels.

Canelo is too precise and will counter Benavidez effectively with power punches. Canelo may lose some rounds but he will eventually hurt Benavidez with a punch he doesnt see.Comment

Canelo is showing his age now. The fact he couldn’t finish GGG, who is DONE says something. I think the fight would be competitive. No KO’s. I think Canelo can OUTBOX Benavides cause Benividas goes in there to KO people. He isn’t a boxer. He also isn’t use to being hit and he IS going to get hit ALOT. I’d be curious how he handles that kind of pressure.Comment
