Comments Thread For: Benavidez Sr. Unimpressed with Canelo's Win Over Golovkin, Says 'David Will Stop Him in 7 Rounds'

The father and trainer of super middleweight contender David Benavidez is more convinced than ever that his son will not only defeat Canelo Alvarez in a potential fight but stop the Mexican superstar inside the distance.

People tend to forget that David Bumavidez was dropped by Ronald Gavril, a part-time Home Depot employee. While Canelo and David are both bums, it would be an entertaining scrap with Canelo eventually stopping him with a body shot. If a man who works part-time at Home Depot can drop you, Canelo can kill you.

Hopefully Canelo never gives this guy a shot. Guy is a serial ducker/fatboy/dopehead looking for an undeserved payday.

Bumavidez Sr. is sooo obsessed with Canelo. He curses him everyday at least once. Clown family.

They're what's wrong with boxing, instead fighting the best, they want Canelo to fight champion after champion get more old and more shopworn all the while they sit on their asses all year long and collect their once a year PBC bum opponent paycheck. Is Benavidez even going to fight again this year? Does he even have an opponent lined up? Or was the Lemuiex fight his "super fight" of the year?

Saul is either going to have to fight David or give up his belt. Bivol already stated theres no need to fight Saul again, as we all saw Dmitry dominate Saul for damn near 12 rounds.

Well, I'm not sure Benavidez would beat Canelo, but he ain't knocking him out, not a chance.

The man has a granite chin. David is a tough opponent, and I definitely think he can win, and also think Canelo can outbox and hurt him.

Was he impressed by Canleo moving up in weight and his son doesn't. He should offer Caleb and Charlo a good split to encourage them to fight him. Make it a PPV vs Plant or Charlo, 25 to 75 split. That is whar Canelo did vs Miguel Cotto.

Canelo is spot on. Benny hasn't fought anyone. Needs to beat Plant, Andrade or Charlo. Biggest fight out there for Canelo now is Jermell Charlo who does deserve it
