Certainly credit to both great fighters, even if the third bout was a letdown.
Canelo clearly edged the trilogy overall, has a bit more skill overall than Golovkin, and his youthfulness doesn't hurt either.
They spent 1 hour and 48 minutes going at each other in the ring over 36 rounds. That's a long time, great chins, no knockdowns and many millions deservedly in their bank accounts.
They will never fight each other again, that's it, but the trilogy will be remembered, even if not as good or great as a few others were. The level of the fighters though are higher than Vasquez and Marquez, and Ward and Gatti, God bless Arturo's soul.
The best trilogies or even four fights, is that a quadrilogy? Ali-Frazier, Ali-Norton, Bowe-Holyfield, Barrera-Morales and Pacquiao-Marquez, that I can recall now.
