I enjoyed it, good chess match. Fight was pretty straightforward really.

1 and 2 were close. 3 4 5 7 were all Canelo. 6 and 8 leaned GGG but not 100% clear. 10 and 11 clear for GGG. 9 and 12 close and maybe leaned Canelo. 8-4 7-5 with a clear winner.

He was downloading Canelo and evading shots. GGG always downloads his opponents actions in the opening rounds before getting their rhythm and timing later on. Even Steve Rolls was getting though with shots while G was downloading him early on.

In GGG's earlier days the downloading process only usually took 1 or 2 rounds - but as he got older it has gradually got longer. Against Murata it took 5 rounds and unfortunately against Canelo it took 7 because Canelo was showing him so many different looks and what with Golovkin's reflexes not being what they were he had to be wary of Canelo's counter punching.

Are you being serious? How many times was Canelo punching Golovkin in the back (near kidneys) instead of throwing body shots. Make no mistake, those were intentional back punches, even the ref had to warn him at least twice...

You don't understand anything about boxing do you? GGG was reluctant to throw his right hand because he was wary of being countered by Canelo's left hook as Canelo has much quicker hands and counter punching ability. Surely the maths should tell you its better not to throw power shots than to throw power shots and risk being knocked out by any version of Canelo's left hook to the head. Look what that shot did to Kovalev!

3 rounds to Golovkin tops. With absolutely no controversy over who won.

Old G won 3 rounds. I still think he smashes Charlo though.

That's not what GGG said in the post fight interview where he acknowledged his loss to Canelo, by stating that he (Canelo) was better this time!
