It's fascinating how just 48 hours ago, many people including the majority of people who participated in HBO's online poll, said Marquez was going to upset Mayweather!

Isn't it funny how things can change in 12 hours? Marquez, who was being called everything from an Aztec Warrior, to a Savior, is now being referred to as a "midget," people who were picking him to win are now saying he never had a chance. Hindsight is 20/20, and people just cannot own up to it when they are wrong.

    Hilarious!

That’s the beauty of the sport that makes the fans as subjective as they are, get use to it.

        Peace.

Yeh. Boxingscene had a poll the night of the fight and 80% of people picked JMM to win. That's unheard of in big fights.

No it's not just the "beauty" of the sport. "Beauty" would be to give the guy credit where credit is due. Floyd made Marquez look like an amateur out there, and everybody in this forum knows it.

Even "Uncle Tom" Steward is saying Floyd is up there with SRR, Ali, and SRL, yet most people are too closed-minded to even attempt to see greatness, while just a couple days ago, somebody posted a thread saying that Pac is top 10 ATG? Why? What has he done? Oh, I know... he has created an aura of invincibility similar to what Tyson created in his younger days. Guess what people were saying about Tyson? He is going down in history with Ali. I liked Tyson and I like Pac, but you have to realize that when Tyson fought a good boxer with a chin, he became one dimensional and frustrated. I thought the Douglas fight was a fluke, but Holyfield definitely showed it.

The same thing will happen if Pac gets by Cotto and fights Floyd. Pacquiao is the more exciting fighter, but does that make him better? I think not.

If JMM loses in the next 12 months or so , they'll probably say he was shot when he lost to Floyd.

Anyone who picked JMM to win was either a casual fan or not a fan at all who happened to stumble past 24/7 and the espn poll. Anyone with even the most minute brain for boxing knew this was going to be a victory for Floyd.

You get no argument from me regarding the skill level/talent Floyd possesses, but in fairness most boxing pundits and fanatical message boarders alike anticipated this outcome of the fight especially when the fight was not and I repeat NOT on an even playing field. And yes, Floyd will go down in history as an ATG as I think most observers would agree, but to downplay Pac’s accomplishments as anything but irrelevant makes this argument still “subjective.”

                    Peace.
