Why won't Floyd fight someone in his own weight division?

I do get your point. (And I like your pic btw I'm a huge Taylor fan)
The problem I have is this: when did Shane last fight? A while ago right? Who is the younger fighter? Floyd is right? OK, now although you and I may think that if they fought around March or April, and Floyd beat him, that it is a legitimate win for Floyd (which it would be.) On the other hand, you will have people still saying: Shane was an old man, The fight wasn't fair, etc. Which brings me back to my original point. Why can't Floyd do something and have the vast majority of people say "OK, that was an accomplishment!?" I'm sure you would give him credit for a Mosley win in March or April, but a very high percentage would not. Just as I had mentioned in a previous post. No matter who Floyd beats, there will always be a high percentage of people who will make excuses to downplay Floyd's greatness. That is just the sad truth.
On the other point, I'm sorry man, I don't know what to tell you. It is what it is; the easiest thing to do it **** on people in boxing. I wish it weren't that way, but you can't force peeps to think a certain way.Comment

I can't believe we are still having these talks on here. Yes what he did Saturday was really a shameful exhibition but at the same time the display proved that he still has it. Now lets see his skills and abilities put to the test against legit comp because his cover has been blown and it is apparent he is not a "small" ww. I hope to see him against the best his size and maybe even bigger opponents, may the best fighter come out on top.
Its like everyone on here has to go to such an extreme. You are either a hater or a total testicle jockey on NSB. Both positions are devoid of reason and even worse neutrality.Last edited by Spray_resistant; 09-22-2009, 08:24 AM.Comment

Back in December 2007, Floyd fought the light welterweight Ricky Hatton, and forced him to move up to 147 for the fight.
This year he fought a career featherweight, a great old fighter who had just moved up to lightweight. Floyd forced him to move up two weight divisions...
Who's next? Darchinyan? Calderon? Why won't Floyd fight another welterweight? Is he afraid of boxers his own size?
Why does he get smaller men to fight him in his weight division - isn't that a ***** move?
The only small guy he can fight now is Pacquiao. If he doesn't get that, he will fight another Welter Weight. I'm torn as to who I want to win the Cotto vs. Pacquiao fight. I'd love to see Cotto vs. Mayweather, that's the fight I've wanted to see for years now. On the other hand, Floyd vs. Manny would be a huge fight and it's hard not to want to see the battle for the P4P # 1 spot.Comment
