I hope your "quote" is just your sense of humor
Why won't Floyd fight someone in his own weight division?

Are you really that insecure that you have to resort to name-calling? First of all, you misquoted me. I never said anything about anybody being a "hater." I am ******? You are the one saying that as time goes by, Floyd will get less credit for a win. So, let's play your silly game. Let's say Floyd and Shane sign a contract for their very next fight. When do you think that would happen? Next Saturday? Get real.
Both would train for months for this fight and the earliest I could see this happening is March or April 2010. That's 7 months right there, and is that not a realistic time frame for Floyd to fight again, considering he just fought this weekend? This is the problem with forums like this. Some people are too immature and too insecure to have a reasonable debate with somebody without calling them names like "******," and "Nut-hugger." Are you a little kid or what?
When I said now, I mean next fight. You really thought I meant this wek??

Back in December 2007, Floyd fought the light welterweight Ricky Hatton, and forced him to move up to 147 for the fight.
This year he fought a career featherweight, a great old fighter who had just moved up to lightweight. Floyd forced him to move up two weight divisions...
Who's next? Darchinyan? Calderon? Why won't Floyd fight another welterweight? Is he afraid of boxers his own size?
Why does he get smaller men to fight him in his weight division - isn't that a ***** move?
the fact is fighters like mayweather dont have a set weight division..he fights anywere looking for the big paydays an big fights...that means when he sees a big name fighter get a big win weight is no objecy he just wants the fight..i seriously doubt mayweather could have gotten down to 140 to fight hatton and lets face it neither man came in 147 so to call it a welterweight fight is absurd anyway...also considering hatton started his career 3 weights higher than pbf did and the fact floyd doesnt put much weight on after the weigh in means he didnt exactly hold a huge advantage over hatton.....he has also fought baldomir and de la hoya who were both bigger stronger an at their best weight classes
years ago leonard hagler duran hearns used to al fight each other for belts yet they would come in to the fights at catchweights 4 or 5 pounds below the division limit yet nobody had a problem with that
mayweather didnt FORCE marquez into anything if jmm felt the weight would have been a problem he shudnt have took the fightComment

First of all, people have been talking how PBF gets no respect, and should he beat SSM in say, next September people will call him an old man. That's what I mean by getting no credit.

My point was that PBF should fight SSM next, say around March; a good 5 months, and the Margarito win would be fresh in peep's minds. If PBF beats him say next fall, you and I both know a number of peeps would say he beat an old man.
You get my point?Comment

Duran fought Hearns at 154, Hagler at 160 and SRL at 147 and 160.
Hearns fought Hagler at 160, Duran and SRL at 147.
Hagler fought Duran at 160, Hearns at 160 and SRL at 160.
SRL fought Duran at 147 and 160, Hearns at 147 and Hagler at 160.
The only catchweight fight was between Hearns and SRL, but both came in less than 163 even though they fought for the SMW title. Coincidentally,
that fight was when both were already well past it.
So in reality,
no, nobody bitched, because none of the fights between the combatants while they were in their prime were at a catch weight as far as I know.
This is the first time I've heard anyone say those were all catch weight fights.Comment

I get where you're comin from.

The problem I have is this: when did Shane last fight? A while ago right? Who is the younger fighter? Floyd is right? OK, now although you and I may think that if they fought around March or April, and Floyd beat him, that it is a legitimate win for Floyd (which it would be.) On the other hand, you will have people still saying: Shane was an old man, The fight wasn't fair, etc. Which brings me back to my original point. Why can't Floyd do something and have the vast majority of people say "OK, that was an accomplishment!?" I'm sure you would give him credit for a Mosley win in March or April, but a very high percentage would not. Just as I had mentioned in a previous post. No matter who Floyd beats, there will always be a high percentage of people who will make excuses to downplay Floyd's greatness. That is just the sad truth.Comment
