Comments Thread For: Can Canelo Avoid Pacquiao's 2012?

By Cliff Rold - To a sizable portion of the boxing fan base, a decisive Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez win over Gennadiy Golovkin (DAZN PPV) would be a first. For that sizable portion, Alvarez hasn't really ever defeated Golovkin at all.

Lmao of course they can. Golovkin and carnela fights/styles are nothing like Marquez and Pacquiaos. The marquez-pacquiao fights a hell of alot better.

Not that I see it as a reasonable chance but what happens if GGG pulls off the win? Is there a rematch clause for a 4th fight or does GGG get to ride off in the sunset as undisputed super middleweight champion?

This article is irrelevant; it's poorly written. It makes no sense.

I don’t see a problem with the article. He said the website scored the 1st fight a draw and Canelo will probably win the trilogy

Two of the judges appointed by the mafia . . . er, I mean, the Nevada State Athletic Commission, judged the Alvarez - Bivol fight. Every single one of those judges in that fight were prepared to give Canela that win. Look at the cards. The fix was in but, unfortunately for them, Dmitry Bivol beat the chit out of Canela for 12 rounds and they got caught with their pants down.

The only way GGG wins this is by KO.

which points do you consider to be “anti Canelo”? Is it the fact that he said their first fight was filled with controversy and 1 card was absurd? Or the fact that the second fight was close and also controversial? The fact that he said this fight is taking place 4 yrs later and many expect Canelo to win? The fact that he said Canelo is coming off a loss and isn’t p4p #1 anymore? Or his opinion that if Canelo loses 2 in a row when he was significantly favored in both could lead to a careee free fall? Where’s the bias?

GGG absolutely won the first fight. Everyone who watched it & re-watched it knows.
GGG has never been knocked down in 394 fights (A & Pro).
Canelo must win by decision, and if GGG really hustles for 12 rounds he can win.
The 4th fight will be hyped like you have never seen.

He can definitely avoid Pac’s fate if an anti-doping agency is involved.
