Floyd fought the better version of DLH, Pac done a better job on him

you have a great point. you are right, they might not be all that different.
the determining factor between the two is the Hatton fight though.
Pacquiao did better moving up at Hatton's own weight class then Mayweather did having him move up.

as far as I'm concerned, they where both out of there element, both looked out of place, and both of their fitness levels where questionable.jmm couldn't carry the extra weight, while oscar probably should have.the only difference is jmm has cojones as opposed to oscar, who has a vagina.

so besides the reasons i stated above, was each fight really that different? pac stans where all over the place posting about how pac was god after his demolition of oscar, while the *****s where out in full force discrediting it, with floyd himself saying he didn't beat a weight drained oscar.now *****s are out in full force preaching the gospel of floyd's godliness.

i don't think jmm/may was any different.both pac and floyd had monumental advantages.if you aren't in tip top condition, you might as well have been a can in there.

i now about the odds for oscar, i doubt that if the book makers knew he would come at 147 on the dot fight night, he wouldn't have been favored.

First of all, where did i state that DLH was weight drained? Oh yeah, i didn't. I'm not discrediting Pac's win over Oscar, as i thought the result would have been opposite, it's just a shame that Pac fans cannot see that the Oscar that night was deadbeat.

Of course, there is no way JMM would have obliterated DLH like Pac did, as he didn't carry his timing and precision (lack of speed and power) like Pac did, but the Oscar of that night showed nothing......not even heart....to say he could have contended with a WW top 10. I never discredit a fighter's win, but i will not overrate it.

Which brings me on to your statement of 'styles make fights'. Of course it does. But what style did DLH bring to the Pac fight? Marquez would have decisioned him quite comfortably in my opinion. DLH didn't carry the speed, precision, skill or power that Floyd possessed, but Marquez still had enough awareness and ringsmarts (hard to deal with Floyd) to beat him no matter how poor he looked competing with Floyd.

I'm no Mayweather fan, and completely agree with most on here that Marquez stood little chance (just too small), but to come back after 2 years and dominate a capable opponent was great.
