Give Jared about 2 more years, you don't rush Heavyweights I remembers what happened to Michael Grant, threw that man in with Lennox way too soon and he never recovered Mentally

Big **** exposed Hrgrovic big time so even with the Amateur Background and Olympic Experience, he too still have a lot of work to do before trying to fight the very best

Exposed what? Hrgović beat an experianced olimpic silver medalist who has 2 meters hight and 125 kilo of muscle. Hrgović would KO Anderson in 3 rounds. He KOed Dubois in sparing, he beat Wilder and Haye in sparing when he was 20 years old.

No Michael Grant had been moved along the right way. He slowly moved up his level of competition & then won that final eliminator against Golota on HBO. He just wasn't at Lennox's level but most HW were not at his level. Biggest weakness was arrogance & it cost him twice. Grant was fine after that fight. He collected 5 million as the mandatory & took a year off then in his first fight back blew his knee out against Jameel McCline. Wasn't even hurt by the punch but he fell awkwardly. Almost another year of recovering & then he attempted his next comeback. By that time he had fought a total of 1 round in 2 years & hired Teddy Atlas. He had several comeback fights including a win over solid journeyman Robert Davis. I remember vividly Grant struggling with veteran southpaw Gilbert Martinez & after that fight you could hear Atlas talking to him. He asked him if he really wanted to continue his career. He felt at that point he may be done. His next fight Dominick Guinn who was being pushed by HBO at the time dropped him a few times & stopped him. Atlas & Grant split but it was during the Gilbert Martinez fight Grant looked like he mentally wasn't into anymore & Atlas called it. Many don't like Atlas but he has been right about several HWs he trained in the past. Briggs, Grant & Moorer. He told Moorer & Grant to retire before they got beat bad. Grant by Guinn & Moorer by Tua.

I remember clearly, Lennox my Favorite Heavyweight of all time so I remember HBO hyping all these other fighters up they was so desperate for someone to challenge Lennox so they was hyping Grant and Tua

Questions was no doubt asked if Grant was ready for Lennox. While he did end up beating Golota he did NOT look good in that Fight and was dropped a couple of times before ultimately stopping Golota if I remember correctly. Also too people didn't think Lennox would fight a younger Michael Grant. If I remember correctly Lennox was actually being rumored to defend a Belt vs John Ruiz before ultimately dropping that Belt

Grant I want to say was 26-27 at the time with like 30 fights so yeah I'm wrong about "Moving Him Too Fast" but I still don't think he was ready for Lennox after a tough Golota fight

If you can find it I got a Grant fight to recommend to you. Grant vs Botha. One of the better washed up HW fights I seen in the last 15 years. The ref was Italian Ingo Barrabas & he let the 2 old warhorses slug it out. Both guys were on the back 9 of their careers but turned in a fan friendly scrap...Barrabas is more of a judge but everytime I saw him ref he did a solid job. Kind of a Euro version of Steve "Let them kill each other" Smoger...
