But the pictures from the next day vindicated the scores. GGG looked like he’d been in a fight with a good boxer. Derevyanchenko looked like he’d been dragged behind a truck through a field of stumps. Dervy is tough, strong, skilled, and a seriously good fighter. Golovkin won, but nobody’s going to carry out a beatdown on Dervy. I don’t even expect to see Alvarez take him on. Maybe… but I doubt it.

I think GGG gave Derevyanchenko too much respect in that fight because of his amateur pedigree. Whenever he got off first and really attacked Chenko he hurt him. When GGG gets off first fighters have to respect his power so go into defensive mode. I hope GGG is conscious of this against Canelo.

There is already only one reason why their fights were competitive. Canelo's stamina and low output due to his stamina. If Canelo had better stamina, GGG would get 12-0'd or KO'd. Canelo's real opponent is himself not GGG.

FACT: the first fight..... in 5 of those rounds, ALL THREE JUDGES scored those 5 rounds for Canelo


and the reason why ALL THREE JUDGES scored those 5 rounds for Canelo, is because Canelo CLEARLY won those 5 rounds..... those rounds were not close, Canelo won them cleanly


the other 7 rounds..... most of them were very close, and most were difficult to score..... Golovkin left that fight up to the judges, and two of the judges scored 1 of the remaining 7 rounds for Canelo

Canelo clearly won 5 rounds, most of the other rounds were very close..... and some of them were genuine swing rounds, so a draw is absolutely within the appropriate range of possible scores for that fight..... you cannot cry robbery when there is only 1 questionable point, and so many swing rounds..... you just can't

Canelo may have nicked one of those close rounds, but two is a stretch..... although there were at least 2-3 swing rounds, so you could not call that a robbery either..... but that would have been a shltty way for Golovkin to lose his titles


also, you casuals do not score for defence or ring-generalship, despite the fact that they are both official scoring criteria..... and if you tell me you did score defence or ringIQ, then I am gonna call you a liar

1) Canelo won 5 of those rounds..... cleanly

2) Golovkin could not get his natural game going at all..... no hunting/trapping..... no pipe-bursting pressure..... he could not cut off the ring..... he struggled to land cleanly..... and we did not see any of his trademark bodywork..... DON'T THINK THE JUDGES DIDN'T SEE THAT..... you muppets may not score ring generalship, but the judges certainly do
