Looks like Fury is going to avoid Usyk and fight AJ.

If they can beat Usyk inside 6 then why fight AJ? Here is what I think happened....they looked at the fight, came to the conclusion Usyk would give Fury fits and AJ is tailor made for Fury (similar style to Wlad) They can make good $$ fighting in UK (draw 90k in Wembley) and it is literally zero risk. AJ would be completely stumped as he fought a smaller, quicker man for the last two years and will now have to figure out how to fight a 6'9" guy.

Don't get me wrong, AJ/Fury would be a better fight for the fans in terms of action, but let's not kid ourselves in thinking Fury is not avoiding Usyk at this point.

Fury vs AJ in December and then unification in 2023 when Usyk is ready. You're thinking about this too much.

The only problem with this is if Fury loses to AJ unification will be delayed again due to a rematch.

I do not understand any of these comments to be truthful. I don't think either one of these men is going to avoid the other. But sometimes you do need a little rest. Not to mention Usyk is not a natural heavyweight, so that's a grueling training camp to come from what he was doing for his country and get that heavyweight muscle back on his body. He probably just needs a little time at his age. He's not that young.

considering Tyson Fury was saying he was going to retire about 15 minutes ago I think this will work out just fine. Would anybody really be that disappointed if Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua squared off in December and then we got a unification in the middle of next year? Is that really that bad of a thing?
