          Well Perez did beat Ortiz in the amateurs and at the time he lost to Povetkin he was highly regarded.

          People seem to think Ortiz suddenly got old now, he was already pretty old when Wilder fought him, most probably in his mid-forties. Hammer dropped him too so his punch resistance was gone already back then.
