Pèrez was nothing compared to ortiz...Just look at their resumes, not even close, neither as pro nor as amateur.
Povetkin would have outboxed him and KO'ed him, too fast and too skilled.
Have a look at the Mike Perez fight, he was another slick skilled southpaw Cuban with extensive amateur background and he actually beat Ortiz in the amateurs.
Ortiz that fought wilder would have dominated Andy he's just too old

Well Perez did beat Ortiz in the amateurs and at the time he lost to Povetkin he was highly regarded.
People seem to think Ortiz suddenly got old now, he was already pretty old when Wilder fought him, most probably in his mid-forties. Hammer dropped him too so his punch resistance was gone already back then.Comment

For some reason I read this thread I was thinking about Tomasz Adamek lol
Actually he went distance with Wlad. But Wlad dropped him couple of times. Even with jab

yuuuuuuuuupI think it's clearly Povetkin, and it's not close. He was easily the number 3 guy for like 15 years. Beat the likes of Larry Donald, Chris Byrd and Eddie Chambers in the late 2000, Beat Chagaev, Huck and Rahman in the early 2010s. KOed Charr, Perez, and Takam back toback to back in the mid 2010s, and had his swan song with the Price and Whyte KO's in the late 2010s. He also be Hughie Fury, Hunter(draw but he won that fight), and a myriad of other contenders through his career. He also gave a good showing against Joshua when he was old. He is broadline HoF. To be frank, Ortiz is not even in the discussion.Comment
