I’ll say this if Andy think he can stay away from wilders right hand for 12 rounds he might as well not even fight. 83 vs 74 night night Andy

I had Ruiz to win this one. Was pretty obvious but was closer than I expected. Ortiz is still competitive. He should keep boxing

Andy is a good fighter, who I felt was underrated for a long time. Wilder gets a lot of hate for his apparent lack of boxing skills, but his power more than makes up for it. I think Deontay takes Ruiz out like he has so many others. As someone once said of Mike Tyson, it’s hard to avoid getting caught for a full twelve rounds. I don’t think Andy can do it.
Wilder has pretty good skills. What people underrate is his ability to land his punches and his speed. He landed a ton of times on the most elusive boxer in the division in Fury. Wilder/Ruiz is an interesting fight. I think Ruiz has a good chance but Wilder is favorite. Usyk wants to fight Wilder though (he said only Wilder or Fury) - Wilder should take that fight before Ruiz.

Yeah, if he landed on Fury, he’ll land on Ruiz — probably with concussive effects. Deontay is also a very tall guy, even taller than Joshua. I think that presents another wrinkle for Andy.

Yeah... "That punch" from Wilder is accompanied by very fast feet, he closes the gap incredbly fast and he already has reach. basically he can stay back and hit you from anywhere in the ring at will lol. It is a large problem to overcome for Andy for sure.

I think Ruiz fought Ortiz a certain way, I don't think he will fight Wilder in similar fashion. If I am Ruiz, I want to fight Wilder like Holyfield fought Tyson. Instead of backing off, go in and try to counter Wilder when he is off balance. Of course Wilder can KO people off balance lol, but Ruiz has a chin and has equal hand speed for all his punches that Wilder has for his right hand.

I also think Ruiz will taste that power. its all a matter of whether his chin can hold up. I think it can based on the Joshua fight... but it would not suprise me if Wilder is too much.

Wilder is an ambush fighter. People never really fought in such a way before... But David haye and martinez fought this way, before Wilder. basically with fast feet and/or sufficient reach a fighter stays back until they attack. It works well for punchers despite being counter intuitive. Wilder seldom actually applies pressure, he comes in when he feels like it lol.

I think Ruiz can win this, but Wilder is not to be taken lightly as a one hit wonder. Defensively Andy's best defense is his offense.

Oh yeah wilder raw power certainly not to be taken lightly at all ,thats thing with deontay he could be losing fight 10-1 and only single mistake by ruiz or pretty much any HW out there and its nite nite...well except for fury,I still wonder how he managed to get up in their first fight after that brutal hand..till this day

Ruiz looked good. He needs to stay in the gym, keep building on the improved conditioning, and he could take it up a notch. I realize he isn’t going to be modelling jeans anytime soon, but I think a weight of 255-260 would be realistic, and still a functional fighting weight for him.

It was a close fight but I had Andy winning due to the knockdowns, I think he got hurt early in an exchange by a big left hand and just boxed his way from there in a fight where not a lot of punches got thrown. I think Andy coming off a layoff and surgery to fight his first southpaw also played a factor he was more defensive and rightfully so, he was quicker though and that right hand was fast and sharp whenever he let it go. He landed the more telling blows although Ortiz landed plenty of clean left hands as well and I honestly was impressed with Ortiz's resilience, say what you want about his age but he has no quit in him and he was in the fight up until the very end. I also don't think he's shot, Andy lands those shots to the ear/neck area and hurts a lot of people with it if he landed that on anyone he could hurt them especially with his speed it's the shots you don't see.

That makes me feel the fight with Wilder could go either way, Andy has a bit of trouble when he's on the outside when someone is pressing him with the jab and landing their straights, but if he can get on the inside and land that cuffing right to Wilders ear I have no doubt he could hurt him as well it's the same punch that Fury got Wilder with on a few knockdowns. It would be whoever lands their right hand first and can follow up.

I thought Ortiz was going to knock ruuz out in tha twelve round. He hurt him bad and used his uppercut for the first time, the one I thought he shoul have been using throughout the whole fight. Maybe he didn't want to empty the tank earlier, a mistake. That 2nd knockdown was a push.
