Andy "Destroyer" Ruiz has earned a title elimination bout against Deontay "The Bronz Bomber" Wilder, if Wilder defeats Robert "The Nordic Nightmare" Helenius in his upcoming fight!
Luis "King Kong" Ortiz tried to climb up the wrong building again, and got knocked down three times, but was able to get back up every time.
Just some humor off of his own chosen ring moniker, nothing malicious intended, I have nothing but respect for Ortiz who almost became Cuba's first world champion twice.
These two fighters put up a real spirited effort in their fight, and they deserve to be offered other well paid opportunities in the near future.

Thanks for the correction, but the point is still the same that it was a home town decision, they took the win from the fighter who deserved it, and gave it to the one who didn't.

That's what Andy Ruiz's got going for him, because he didn't have those fast hands and serious punching power he wouldn't have beaten Anthony Joshua for the title.
Joshua had him really hurt, and it was Ruiz fighting out of pure desperation with his heavy handed piston fist that won the day for him on that night.
I understand that Ruiz that he didn't do enough, but that was years later and he accepted the fact that no amount of complaining was going to change the original decision.
The guy has a lot of class, and comes across as a general all around good guy, that plus being able to fight like a true warrior has gotten my respect.

Yeah, if he landed on Fury, he’ll land on Ruiz — probably with concussive effects. Deontay is also a very tall guy, even taller than Joshua. I think that presents another wrinkle for Andy.

Actually I don't know what is up with Andy, it's like he has no defense at times. I could give him a chance against Wilder if he actually tightened up his defence but it isn't going to happen until he gets knocked out sadly. Good fight though. Best fighter Wilder has beaten was Ortiz (he was a bit younger then but still pretty old).

I like Andy. I wasn’t surprised when he upset Joshua, as I’d seen him fight previously. People look at him and see a fat guy, but he’s got great skills and surprisingly fast hands. Just a solid fighter. I think he has a chance against almost anyone. But if Wilder still has dynamite in that right hand — and I don’t see why not — I don’t think Ruiz will see the twelfth round in their future encounter.
