You picked him because he is old and beat nobody. But I won`t complain, this is the right fight to make.

Sorry but I got Ruiz winning this one. Late stoppage or easy UD Andys hand speed boxing IQ under rated hes a solid a boxer. I watched a video of him training couple months ago, looked as good as I've seen him.

Carrying all that weight is going to slow Ruiz down to the degree that even a 45yo (or older, other ages are available) Ortiz can land on him. 268 isn't a good weight for a professional athlete (leaving aside darts players). I'm gonna put something on Ortiz. He looked pretty lousy v Martin but the man has Cuban skills & a big, slow, out-of-shape opponent & the knowledge that this is his last hope. If Ortiz loses this there is nowhere for him to go.

It is surprising how much weight slows H/Ws down. I was just watching part of the, late lamented, Earnie Shavers v Tex Cobb. On commentary Ken Norton kept saying how slow both men were, but to me they didn't look that slow, certainly compared to today's standards. So I watched Frazier v Quarry II &, OMG, that looked like it had been speeded up in comparison. It was """ing intense, made more so because of a huge low blow by Quarry at end of R1. Obviously, punching Joe Frazier in his private parts is a really bad idea & for the next 4 rounds he rained ceaseless, barbaric, hell on Quarry. Knowing now had bad Quarry ended up it does make for uncomfortable viewing. It would have been better if that had been Jerry's last fight, but even then he probably would have had problems. My point, though, is not just how FAST both men were compared to today's H/Ws, but how MOBILE. Look at Joe & there is not one mili-second where he isn't moving his head, his torso, his hands. Jerry, also, has fast hands & sometimes really nice feet, although his head & upper body movement doesn't compare, which partly explains the horrible beating he took.

IF you weigh in 20-40ib overweight, you may think you can do the job, throw punches, take punches, go 12. You will certainly never be able to do what Frazier did, constant movement, constant action. That needs a man to be in shape.

While Ortiz has a puncher's chance, he looks every bit of 55 years old in this article's photo.

Tell that to Joshua. Ruiz is the same weight now and when he knocked out Joshua.

I thought this fight was getting made because it is an in-house PBC fight.
